I always try to give a wave. Or thumbs up then give the mini some juice. I've noticed a lot of newer mini owners tend not to wave.

I picked mine up today (Saturday) and was scouting out MINIs to wave to...

I saw one two lanes to my right on the highway but she wasn't paying attention. Didn't see any others the rest of the day. :(

I'm going to be out scouting again tomorrow

I didn't see a single other one today that wasn't sitting in a used car lot. I was shocked. I see Minis EVERYWHERE around here. Quite popular, despite not being a REALLY urban area (I grew up around Chicago and Milwaukee, so this place seems miniscule).

On Good Friday, my son and I took Winnie out for a drive along the Coast Highway. Out of five MINIs that I waved to, FOUR waved back! Two of those with great enthusiasm!!:thumbsu p:

That was the best return for the waves that I have EVER had... !!!

BTW, it was an enthusiastic wave above my steering wheel that did it, they would never have seen the two fingers lifted kind of wave. In all of the chaos of traffic, you need to really go for it so that they will see you.

Keep trying, the
are out there!!

I wave at all MINIs I pass...sadly I've only had one or two actually return the wave. I will keep waving though.

We are participating in a MINI event this weekend called "Save the Wave"! I'm sure there will be LOTs of waving going on....

Ive only had one or two people return the wave in the past few months. I wave at every Mini I pass.

I got my MINI at a used lot and didn't know about the wave. A week ago, another MINI waved at me and I was giving him the strange look. Now I wish I had waved back. I do the wave every chance I get and I did get one to wave back but you can tell he didn't know what was happening.

Sadly, people don't really wave much here in Chicago let alone a MINI wave (people are too "cool" here), but I'll keep doing it. I think it's fun.

I have waved at everyone I pass...........for the 2 1/2 weeks I have had it only one person has waved back & really looked at me like I was a nut!! You would think that down south 'we' would be a bit friendlier. Been waving at the FJ people since had it & rarely will they wave back either. I get more interest from both cars from non-owners. BUT I AM FRIENDLY & WILL CONTINUE TO WAVE!!! CAUSE MY MINI ROCKS \m/ !!!

So an electric blue MINI that passed me on the dragon took this to a whole new level that I MUST emulate. As I was giving my mini wave this very pretty MINI winked at me. Yes, SHE WINKED. They must have installed a special switch that when they hit it, it turns the drivers side headlight on and off. Because the MINI winked at me, I swear. I about lost it, I was freaking out the whole rest of the ride.

Save the wave sticker

And on another note, who is the black clubbie at the dragon who had the awesome Save the Wave sticker on their back drivers side window. I want that sticker!

As cool as the wink is, and as much as I want it too, I'd be pretty stingy with it because it would shorten the life of the expensive HID bulbs.

Someone needs to source "these save the wave" stickers asap. Or design one and I'll get em printed and cut.

Well if she can't, send me a pic and I'll try to replicate 1.

I've encountered several MINIs on my journeys in the western suburbs and haven't received one wave yet. Plenty handed out though.

I love this!

I was driving around Los Gatos today, a real hoity-toity little rich town, and waved at at least three Minis, but didn't get any love back from their bug-eye-sunglass-sporting drivers :(
