Two finger wave... I vote for full arm waves! Just don't try and shift while giving a full arm wave.

Let's see...

If you have a Jeep ... there's the Jeep wave;
If you have a Corvette ... there's the Corvette wave;
If you have a Toyota ... there's the Toyota wave;
If you have a Camaro ... there's the Camaro wave;
If you have a Miata ... there's the Miata wave;
If you have a "Whatever"... there's the "Whatever" wave.

Now I'm not suggesting you stop waving, I'm just sayin'....

I've only gotten a handful of return waves in Toronto, it's disappointing.
There are a lot of MINI's. Specifically 2nd Gens, driven by Asian women, with their seat positioned as close to the steering wheel as possible.

So maybe they can't get their hands of the steering wheel from sitting so close lol

My wife was born in a small town in Mississippi. (Folks from Mississippi know that this statement is redundant.) She still has family who live there. In this small town, everyone waves to everyone when they drive by. Drive by other cars, they wave. Walk down the street, they wave. Go for a run, people wave. Initially, I was confused. Now I love it.

Another thing about that small town, they used to have a cross street where the north-south traffic had a stop sign and the east-west traffic did not. Then one day about 10 years ago they switched which street had the stop sign (so now the east-west traffic must stop). Despite the change, people still stop when going north-south and do not stop when going east-west.

Waved at a guy yesterday and got "look of death" in response, then as he pulled away I saw the giant ZipCar logo on the back of his Mini - apparently he wasn't too happy about his car assignment :/

I've had pretty good luck down here in south Alabama. I wave, the husband waves, our kid in the back waves (he's our MINI lookout...can spot them waaaay far away). I was passed by a chili red MINI the other day and got a honk & wave from them. It totally made my day.

Now, the lady who drives the black MINI cabrio...who we pass every morning. I will get her to return my wave one way or the other. I refuse to believe someone so stoic can drive a MINI. I'm going with she hasn't had enough coffee yet.

That's awesome. Why aren't these printed and placed inside every new MINI delivery? WAVE B!TC435!

I tried to get my dealer to have it added to the contract when buying a MINI. Then there is no excuse for a MINI owner not waving.

I didn't know about the wave when I got my MCS back in November, but noticed right away all the waves from fellow Mini drivers-- the first couple took me by surprise and I didn't have a chance to wave back. When I started reading this forum I realized it was a Mini "thing". I think it's fantastic and initiate waves myself whenever I see another Mini. Most of the time I get waves back; I can only think of once or twice the other driver didn't wave back. In fact I got two today, and it was unusual to see two Minis in one day... they aren't super popular here!

Asian female, 2nd gen Mini owner here for about 6 months and been lurking here for a while now. First, I don't sit way close to the steering wheel (response to an earlier post...). Second, I haven't been waved at by any fellow Mini drivers yet. :(

And third, I'm slowly working up the nerve to wave at other Mini owners...

Ha! I suppose I should just start. I guess I feel a tad too self conscious since I've yet to see a Mini with the same color combo as mine. Yeah, I know, makes absolutely no sense.

I'll wave next time!!!

Thats the great thing about owning a MINI. How about posting some pics of your 1 in a million MINI. Welcome aboard also. You are now part of the MINIac family so you don't need to feel self conscious.
