Loose antenna

Okay, so I'm a idiot. I pulled my car cover when it got stuck on the antenna ( 2" stubby from Alta), and now I noticed its loose. Before I attempt to try to take it apart, did anyone ever have to replace the part that holds it tight to the roof? I think its called the base holder. Is it accessable from the top, or do I have to remove the roof liner? Thank You in advance... By the way I have a 2011 JCW Coupe.

No I did'nt rub off the clearcoat. I think I either bent or broke the base holder. I'll try to look at it today, before it starts to rain. Hope it does'nt cause water to leak into the car....

Then take the head liner out and tighten it down or replace it.

I think I'll try to see what the Dealer says. Don't want to damage any hidden clips whilre trying to remove the headliner.. I wonder why Mini did'nt install the antenna somewhere else, or improve the mounting design...JMHO

It looks like a BMW carry over. Plus there really is not other place to mount it. That is my idea, no telling what the engineers were thinking.
