When you bring your Mini in for its inspections is it important to go specifically to the mini dealer or can you get a reliable mechanic too? the nearest Mini dealer to me is about an hour away...
My closest dealer is over 4 hours away. In 262000 miles it's only been back to the dealer twice, both for recalls. I've done everything else. I don't see why a good mechanic couldn't keep up on maintenance. While it is still under warranty it would probably be good to make the hour trip to the dealer. Aren't the first few oil changes free? Its been awhile since I thought about warranty!
