Eyes Windshield Shades

I wanted to bring a little more personality to my MINI, Volly. So I made him some eyes! A few of you have expressed interest in some similar windshield shades for your MINI's, so now I'm making them for you too! I will be able to do assorted expressions like sad , angry , inquisitive, etc all in the specific color of your MINI. So, what do you think? Anyone want to characterize their MINI with me?

Edit: It has begun! Here's where you can order your sunshade: Click here.

How do you think they will hold up in the TEXAS sun, ya know we can cook food on the dash, from cookies to steak. Our daily temps range from 102 to 110 going to be our hottest summer on record. The shades are cool i almost expect the car to talk..

I'll be creating my own design so they won't be exactly like Pixar's Cars eyes. The concept is the same, but they will be my own unique art. I really just wanted to see if there was interest in them before I sat down and created all the different looks for these. I know my own one is pretty similar to Cars, but I also sat down and actually painted it from scratch, nearly taking 7 hours to do. I'm going with a different approach this second time around. Printing them will be much less time consuming and they'll have really clean lines.

The shades should hold up fairly well. I'm using official MINI sunshades for the base and the printed vinyl will be the very same material used on car graphics, which is meant to stand up to the elements.

Oh and I'm sure that Volly does indeed talk when no one is around.

Haha! Yes, definitely! Also, I need to know what color you guys would need the eyelids and irises to be. Anyone know where to find a good list and color swatch for all MINI's?

The shades look great - any estimate on price? I don't see the official MINI sunshades sold anywhere for much less than $50, so I'm assuming it'll be at least that much for the custom "eyes" version?

I might have to think about not using official MINI shades to keep prices low, but I like that by using the official ones we will know that the shades will fit our cars perfectly.

I should have the final price on them soon, as I've sent in for a quote on them already. The things I will need to know are:

Model of your MINI:
MINI color (eyelid color):
Iris color:
Expression of eyes:

mini eyes

We were thinking of separate eyeballs to put where we liked them to be. The mini emblem might be a problem or not. It could become a nose. Eyelids & eye brows would add to the effect but would be more work for you. Thanks for your efforts.

For something like that, here's a thumbnail of what it might look like:

Very interested in this, especially if it is on the OEM visor, so there is a guaranteed fit.
