Unusual wave phenomenon

So, I've noticed the past few months commuting in my MCS that I get a lot of waves, mostly thumbs-ups, from sport bike riders. At first I thought they were acknowledging someone else but, more recently, it's been obvious they are meant for me. This morning, in particular, a guy on a sport bike passed within a couple of feet of me going the same direction and gave me a thumbs up right at my driver's window as he slowly went by. I'm wondering if it's the look of my MCS - PW with super-dark tint, black wheels and black stripes - that they approve of or just the rep of the MINI in general. Maybe it's because I generally haul butt. Or maybe they all just think they know me.

Any thoughts?

You wouldn't happen to be an attractive young female, would you?

I have recently experienced a huge spike in waves since I did some exterior mods to the car... Seriously from hardly any, so flashing of lights and big smiles. So, I'd vote for the look of the car.

MINIs and motorcycles have some common interest: enthusiasm for twisty country roads and spirited motoring..

..also, have noticed here on NAM, alot of MINI owners are also motorcycle owners...found this pic on the "show me your R56" thread today...

I wave to MINIs when I'm on my Harley.

The best wave I've gotten was from a guy in a Ferrari. We were both zipping along the highway pretty good until my exit came up. He waved as he passed me.

Unusual wave phenomenon - sounds like a non-linear partial differential equations problem and/or quantum mechanics.

Must be nice. I waved at 8 on the way home and only 1 even looked at me.
