Advice Please
Hi all-
I owned a 2003 MCS coupe for a few years (I bought it used) and loved the thing, issues and all. Eventually the upkeep became too much and I traded it in for a '10 Mustang GT (mainly because I got a smoking deal on it).
Unfortunately I miss driving a Mini.
I've decided to check out the '11 S Cabrios and see how the numbers would work out. I'm aware that the '12 model is coming out soon. I have a few questions:
1. How are the '11 models fairing so far? Any issues? My '03 had issue after issue (rattles, clutch, window motors, etc) but I bought it used @ 37k miles.
2. As I didn't buy my Mini new, I have no experience with how pricing works on the new models. I do know that there's no inter-dealership competition because dealerships are 2 hour drives away from each other (here anyway). Can I expect to get ANY kind of break in price or is it MSRP or walk away?
3. I'm assuming buying the extra year of service/warranty is a good idea.
4. Anything else I should know?
Thanks,
Jay

I don't have an '11 but I haven't read much about problems here. However, they are still so new, it's hard for anyone to speak to reliability! By all accounts it's MSRP or close to it. It seems like most folks are paying MSRP within a few hundred bucks, maybe getting some free floor mats thrown in.
Good luck in getting back into a MINI! I test drove an '08 Mustang GT before I got the the MINI, all that power was cool but it lacked personality.
