Okay, so i got the headlight "chrome" rings off and have plasti-dipped them black...now, does anyone know how to remove the rear tailight "chrome" rings? The headlights were easy to unclip as the hood opens...but the tailights do not afford the same access...ideas? anyone?

there is thread floating around with pictures. but as to try and help you, here goes.

i wrapped my headlight and taillight rings this weekend in gloss black vinyl. to remove the taillight rings i wrapped a small flat blade screw driver in a micro-fiber cloth.

then i put the wrapped screwdriver between the taillight lense and the trim ring. starting at the top seemed best to start popping the trim ring off. once you get it started you will see what i mean when say you "just pull the ring right off the taillight".

 

I've been unable to find the thread with photos...anyone know where it is? I want to remove my front and back ones to black out but am afraid that I'll break them...and they're expensive to replace!

 

I don't know if the Countryman rings are attached the same way. . . .
