I just purchased my first mini, and i was wondering if anyone who has a kayak roof rack on their mini could give me some tips on where to tie down the bow/stern straps from the kayak onto the mini.

I looked under the mini & didn't see a sufficient spot to hook the strap hook to under the mini, i noticed in some pics it looks like people hooked it to under the hood. I'm confused.

Any tips will be extremely helpful.

Also I was wondering if anyone tried putting 3 kayaks stacked vertically on their mini? or if anyone has tried transporting a 15-17' kayak? & how far?

I carry my 9' kayak in the passenger seat of my convertible. I lean the seat all the way back and then use a webbing strap to tie the boat down to one of the cargo anchor points in the trunk.

Have you looked at using the tow hooks as tie down points?
