In February, I put an order in for a JCW mini clubman [with mini canada]. 12 weeks later it arrived, but not as ordered. Black body, red roof, but with silver c pillars. Interior was supposed to have the red trim, but instead came with black. In Canada, if you order an all black clubman, the standard config is with silver c pillars [I don't know why].
To me this sounds like the factory initially made an all black mini, realized their mistake and painted the roof red, but left the c pillars.
I was planning on leasing this car, but am now hesitating. I spoke to the saleswoman, who is trying to get more info from mini canada. She says they can change all the parts, but I am skeptical.
Anybody else have anything similar happen?

Could it be simply that a black body gets the default of silver c-pillars?

 

In Canada, a black clubman with a black roof comes with silver c pillars. I don't know why. In Canada, we have far fewer choices when it comes to these cars.

 

I don't have personal experience but had a neighbor who purchased a Pepper White with Pepper White roof order with black rear trim but then sent it out to have the rear trim painted Pepper White. He said it was no big deal as it's all trim that pops off and on. If that's the case it shouldn't be an issue if they're willing to change it out for you. Good Luck!

 

Annoying, but all the parts you describe are fairly easily swappable... If the dealer's willing to do it, I'd let them.

Absent additional information, my guess would be dealer screwed up when submitting the order. That happened with the wheels on my former 2010... Just had the dealer swap them with a correct set from a car on the lot.
