On Saturday she took me on my first night run! It was a beautiful evening, great twisties and an amazing full moon. There were about 15 Minis. We celebrated our Mini Clubs third birthday.

My car spent the day driving my mechanic crazy. It's been stuck in the shop for two days because the instrument panel won't shut up. It keeps showing the turn signals are flashing when they aren't. The dealer is still trying to fix the problem.

How do you go so long without your Mini Dosage?

A realization...

Today I realized that Minis are for driving. I bought my '05 S in February this year. Just the other day I filled the tank for the first time. How silly to keep such a great car sitting in the garage. So today, on a whim, I took her out and to my great surprise, I was happy and at peace. Heck, even saw another Mini and gave a "mini wave" to them. The fun part though is in the driving. The engine that could, did. The superchager whine in my ears and my body pressed into the seat made me smile. So never again will I hide my Mini just b/c I just washed and waxed it. A little rain never hurt a Mini. So now when I want, I getting her out if even just to drive across town and show her off.

Today, my beltline blackout tape arrived in the mail. Needless to say, the beltline is now blacked out. The CF vinyl is due to arrive on Friday. That means more new pics this weekend.

I got my 05 MINI two years ago and in the beginning, after dealing with a few minor issues, I found myself being slightly fearful of my little sweety.

That changed shortly after. Now we go, no matter what the weather may be. My day isn't complete unless I've felt the little wheels rolling under me and patted it on the boot, as I walk away.

I think I like night runs more than day runs! Especially with a full moon!

it was very different, and a bit stressful, but fun, as we steered clear of wildlife.

Got home very late and the next day was Easter, so it was an exhausting weekend! Took my 37 yr old daughter for her first run and she had a blast! I am still recovering!!

all the senses

Today I took her out on a long run for the first time in weeks. She had been in my garage in pieces as I made a few "enhancements". In return she gave me the BIGGEST smile as I drove through a tunnel for the first time with my new exhaust. I thought I was too old to get excited by something like that.

VROOOOMMM.......

BTW - I turned around just to do it again.

She prompted an impromptu mini gathering at my house! Had one Mini friend coming over to help me blackout her belt line, then 2 more Mini friends ended up coming over. Ended up with four Minis in my driveway! Thawed some steaks, had drinks, almost completed blacking out, grilled, ate, laughed a lot.

All this because of a sweet little car!

I actually did it!

Yep, worked on my baby today and installed some new union jack mirror caps and union jack center caps. Looks just so darn cool now. Did some detail work but the main thing is that I got in her and drove her. What a blast this car is. Why didn't I buy one of these way back when?????

My MINI got me AWESOME MPG this weekend!

What has my MINI for FOR ME? Got me 38.3 MPG yesterday during a 135 mile road trip to Jack's Peak in Monterey, CA! LOVE the mileage...especially since I'm not working right now!

AWESOME!

My Mini helped me move today. He's a lot bigger than he looks.
