You guys are lucky! $4.35 is cheap around here in So. Cal They say the gas is a special formulation. But I wonder has anyone out there got a tank of gas say from Arizona and passed smog in California. And I wonder why Diesel is .10 more expensive than premium. Is that true anywhere else?
Okay, I filled up for the first time yesterday and here are the results. This should make you folks in the U.S. feel a little better.
----Canada ---------------------------- US
Fill 44.595 Litres --- which is---- 11.78 Gal
Price/L $ 1.396 -----which is ---- $ 5.28 per Gal
Cost $ 62.25 --------which is ---- About the same
Distance 570 Km ---which is ---- 354.18 Miles
L/100 Km 7.82 ------which is ---- 30.07 MPG
Cents/Km 10.92 -----which is ---- 67 cents/Mile
I heard a great way to help lower the cost of gas, but it is anarchy in the making. I'll keep it to myself for now, but if you really want to know PM me and I'll tell you.

Reason: spacing
Further to my comment about helping to lower the cost of gas - there is a way, but if you really want to know, you'll have to message me. I'm not sure if I'm breaking any rules here, if I am, please forgive me, for I know not what I do.

Buckland, how many Anarcists have bitten on your offer of lower gas costs?
Sounds like it was a good idea not to fill up in Canada then. We just drove through the southern end of BC (Port Angeles - Victoria Ferry, then Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen and down the freeway), we made sure not to have to buy gas in Canada. We filled up for $4.34 in Port Angeles and $4.43 this morning in Seattle.
In the Sierra Foothills of Northern California, I paid 4.44 for Chevron Premium, 91. Cheaper than two weeks ago. Get between 29.5 and 34.5 mpg. Always does better downhill than uphill..
93 isn't available in CA (at least anywhere that I've ever been in CA in 30+ years), so 91 is the max we get. One or two stations in each metro area does seem to have a 76 station with 100 octace race gas though....
