Sounds like you have a problem with you MC if you are getting 29.1. Smurf gets 31-33 mpg and that is with a lot of city driving. She get about 435- 440 a tank. Something doesn't sound right with that #. I thought non-s got better gas milage?

Have you ever driven Portland, OR Traffic...it S-U-C-K-S!! Avg. 26-28mph, we are pretty much Freeway to Freeway, but have our Neighborhood to go through @ 25mph Speed Zone, then we get to a 30mph Speed Zone, then onto a major street @ 40mph Speed Zone for 1/4 mile, we've never hit 40mph on this road in AM/PM Traffic and Bumper to Bumper Freeway Traffic from there.
I do fill up Molly when she has a half a tank left, so that may make some difference, she is a Garage Queen and is only driven when Hubby & I have to take 2 Cars to work, otherwise we commute in his 2010 Kia Soul Shadow Dragon SE#3 "Smaug"!!
Our AZ Trip back in Feb. she got 33.3mpg, with very spirited driving!!

I have the same thing happen in Seattle that RJ does in Portland. When I'm in Seattle, gas mileage DROPS to around 28 mpg and it's because of the traffic and I'm sure the steep hill climbs around Seattle have more than a little to do with that drop in gas mileage too. Also, the automatic does get slightly worse gas mileage than the manual... even with that, here, where I live, I usually get 30 mpg city.
RJ, I do 40 mpgs on the highway... I'm thinking that had to be some REALLY spirited driving.
Driving in major cities is a bit different than smaller cities and I've always found a reduction in gas mileage compared to where I live.
And to stay on topic, gas here in Eastern WA is 4.15$ a gallon for premium at my usual gas station. 3.79$ for regular at the cheapest spot in town.
I will admit when I saw 93 octane for $3.91 last Saturday at a shell station I nearly fell over. It felt like I hit the jackpot or found a pot of gold.
