Really? That's just too bad. It was actually kinda hot in Southern California yesterday. Between 75 and 80 all day. I wore shorts and a t-shirt....

 

florida's cold temps is a shift in temperature which is part of global warming .

 

+1 Mine was low 30s and the snowflake for a first. Kind of weird.

 

You guys are lucky. Here in Wisconsin, my warning for cold temps doesn't even come on anymore because it hasnt gotten above freezing in a while. My Mini reported 0 degrees this morning on my way to work.....

 

while MINI is in the shop ive been riding my bike in 20- degrees windchill about 10 and 25-35mph wind guest mixed with snow for the past 3 days not ot mention at 645 in the AM

 

I pulled out of the garage at 1 Am this morning, temp read 64 degrees, by the time I was down the block it was down to 16. I am so glad for heated seats!!!

 

I know it's cold outside when I look out the window in the morning and think, "ooh, so that's what my MINI would look like with a white roof..."

 

Hope you brought a jacket.

I also love the seat warmers. Feels extra comfortable in that leather.

Also, I think you know it's cold when you can see your breath indoors.

 

Does the thermometer go to negative in the MINI? I hope not because negative anything isn't a temperature.

 

It's "cool" things don't get cold until the mercury (not the wind chill) dip below zero.

+12F on the way to work (with the top down of course), seats on "2" and blower going full bore, I just wish the blower motor was a bit more powerful and that there was a bit finer control over output between the dash and floor. I have to keep switching the **** every few minutes to move the heated air down to the feet as they start getting cold. Here's an idea, why not heated floor mats?!?

Now why didn't I think of that?!? I don't think that would do good things for your ability to pass vehicle or emission control inspections though!

 

i actually have a friend with an old e30. when he gets it inspected he throws the stock exhaust back on lol how would you even run a side exhaust, i feel like theres way too much in the way

 

after 62 years of living in the northeast I just can't take it any longer. Just signed a contract to sell my home in CT, for 100k+ loss to move to southern FL. Maybe that's the excuse I need to trade up to a vert. We'll see.

 

After leaving Rochester/Buffalo and moving to South Florida since 1990, I can honestly say that I would much rather deal with the summers here than the winters there. True, it gets hot and humid, but I find my AC to be perfectly fine. Tinting is a must if you don't have it, because that really does help keep your car interior feel cooler. In my other cars, I had black interiors and camel interiors, and I really do not think there is a difference, as far as the air temperature is concerned. I am back to a black interior with my Clubman, and I have no problems. I will note one thing: if you have leather seats, or leatherette, any color seat will get extremely hot after parking in the sun even for a few minutes. Owie ow ow!!!!

I am lucky that I park inside a garage at my office, and I park in the garage at home. When I run errands, I park under a tree even if it means walking a few extra steps. But so do all Floridians. Just make sure to keep an umbrella handy because those summer rainstorms come on fast!

Wpb thanks for the advice. I should be down around mid Jan, and hope to meet up with you and your clubbie on a local GTG.

 

January should be a perfect time to come down. Last year the cool temps lingered through all of January (low 30's, high 40-50), but hopefully this year will be different. Our cold snap came much earlier than usual, so maybe that means the snap will also end earlier than usual. Just think: you could be enjoying blooming flowers and ocean breezes in February or March, and all your current neighbors will still be shoveling snow. (No offense to any Northeners!)

 

I'll miss many aspects of living in New England, snow, winter and raking leaves are not on the list. I'm not sure how I'll deal with the summer heat, but I'm sure I'll figure something out. I hope to buy a home in the Jupiter area near the beach with a pool. The only snow I'm want to see soon is in the large MINI Countryman snow globe in NYC.
