Custom stripe opinion
Custom stripe opinion
I'm getting a custom stripe made for my R53. I want a 14 inch center stripe down the bonnet and boot with two 1/4 inch pink pin stripes on either side.
My boyfriend the vinyl guy thinks that a quarter inch is too small and that they won't show up well. I want it to be subtle.
This is the pink:

If it helps, I have white bonnet stripes with 1/4" black pin stripes on the edges of the white stripes. The car is British Racing Green and the black pin stripes are almost invisible. Not sure how much your pink stripes will stand out against blue. Maybe if you could try laying a sample piece on the car...?

I'd really like to get it right the first time because as designed, the graphic is exactly 15 inches wide-- the same width as the bottom of the scoop. 14 inch stripe + 1/4 gap and 1/4 pin stripe on either side. If the pin stripes are too small, I'll pretty much have to redo the whole thing. But I'm really leaning towards having the accent stripe be too small than too big. I like my stuff to have just a little bit of an edge to them, such as my last set of track wheels... which were time attacked in hot pink.

Digging in the archives, I've found some pretty good photos of cars with 1/4 and 1/2 inch accent stripes and I've decided to try my luck with 1/4 inch. I hope to install it this weekend... there will be photos.
