For almost 3 years now, my beloved '06 JCW MCS and I have been star-crossed lovers, separated by fate (and Japan's strict import laws). While I've been traversing the (frustratingly slow) twisty, narrow, and scenic roads of Okinawa in my trusty Suzuki Jimny, I would often say to myself, "Self, we should be doing this with MINI." I felt guilty, as though I was betraying her.

Now that my tour here is drawing to an end, I'm facing our reunion with a little trepidation. We've been apart so long now, and so many things have changed. I have no idea what the future will be like... will she still be as fun?... has she let go and broken down?... will she be cool now that I have a kid on the way? (BTW need advice on an infant car seat!!!) 3 years is a long time... things change.

Just thought I'd share... anyone else go through a long separation from their beloved?
