The 06 and latter look the same. Does anyone know if they are? Thanks Jim

will a 07 fit an 06 is the question. Also what i the difference in the 06 bodies and the latter bodies. They look alot alike..

 

I don't think the scuttles are interchangable - here's an R56 scuttle:



And here's a first-generation scuttle:



As for the bodies, the first-gen and second-gen cars are both recognizable as MINIs, but I don't think there's a single body panel that will interchange between the generations.

Yep, different car. However, any 1st gen grill will fit any 1st gen car and the same for 2nd gen cars. When I had some bodywork done on my 1st gen car recently, I bought a set of black just-a-mini side grills and had them painted to match the body color. I then installed them with the clear marker lens from the S grills. I may take them out, though, and remove the grill on the back side and repaint that to black, leaving just the horizontal parts of the grill in the body color.
