OBDII connector

Can anyone tell me where the OBDII connector is located on the MINI?
Thanks!

Under the dash by your left knee (assuming you're driving).

I am a bit embarrassed to admit that I spent over 10 minutes up under the dash on the driver's side looking for the OBDII connector and could not find it. My MINI is 2003 -- could it be somewhere else or am I just missing it?

You'll need to get that answered by a first gen owner. All of my experience is with the second gen.

Can you be more specific where it is on your 2nd gen MINI -- as it would surprise if they moved it. Is there a cover hiding the connector?

Under the dash by your right knee in front of the behind the underdash cover panel. There is a small hinged door (about 1" x 2") that flips down that covers the connector.

It looks like this.

Easiest way to find it on the 1st gen is find the light for the drivers side footwell with the door open and the light on you'll find the port right next to it.

Ah, then it IS in a different spot on the R53 ....

On the R55, it's as far left as you can go and still be under the dash.

Great, I did find it. The small door hinges from front to back and is almost again the fender well. Thanks you!
