Took my MCS to the track (Video)

I instructed at NJMP Lightning Raceway this weekend. I thought it would be cool to see what my new to me Mini Cooper S could do. I was absolutely shocked at how well it did!

It was on the stock rims and 16" all season run flat tires and stock brakes. Only mods are Alta performance pack 2 and Mach V springs.

It was a ton of fun keeping up with (and passing) M3's, Vettes, Evo's, 911's. After a session I had an E46 M3 in the advanced group come up and check out the car to see why it was so fast and couldn't believe it was on all season run flat tires (he was on R-comps).

I did not have a camera mount in the Mini for in car video, but I do have footage of a a session where I was in my 911 chasing my friend who is also an instructor driving my Mini.
Unfortunately were were let out on track first so there is not a lot of traffic to get an idea of relative speed to other cars. Towards the end of the video a black GT3 with an X on the back (designates Instructor) passes us and we were able to kinda keep up with him for a while. He was one of the faster cars/drivers there this weekend.

MCS Track Video Here!

So... the 16" all seasons eh?

I ran those at a driving school finished by an autocross; I guess once you're driving and enjoying the car's handling, you don't even realize -- you just deal with the less grip. I did get into an instructor's mini that had snows, and he kept cussing at the terrible grip he had each corner

Nice Stuff! That venue is a pretty nice complex for being in the middle of the pine lands. Thanks for the look.
