What's the best adhesive to use when reattaching the cooper s letters?

if there are no pins on the other hand, any ideas on how to align the new one in place? make a template maybe?

it's being replaced because the red paint on John Cooper is gone-just chrome now... after just one year

thanks for your help
I replaced the rear John Cooper Works emblem on my 09 JCW, due to the paint fade as well and there were no pins.
The new emblem actually came on a template, that helped me line it up perfectly on the boot.

I hope this helps.

I took mine off, and will be reusing them. I wonder what adhesive I should use to attach them.

You know, I thought about trying that, but since the letters are all separate, it seems like it would take a lot of cutting around the letters.

Safest choice is the tape. I had bought the adhesive glue, and the warning label said, "could melt paint" (in so many words), so I returned it and bought the tape. I used it to reapply my bonnet emblem. Pain to cut, but didn't harm my paint and it is stuck on really good.
