I work in a library, and I'm a book nerd, so I thought it might be interesting to see if we could collect some book titles of books about our beloved cars. For example, I work in a cataloging department, and this book just came across my desk--thanks to a coworker bringing it to my attention:

Mini: An Intimate Biography, by Christy Campbell. Published by Virgin Books (London), 2009.


Maybe we could put together a list (a 'bibliography' for you academic and professional types, the more annotated, the better) and discussion about Mini/MINI books with entire or partial content about our cars. Yes?

You can also consider getting the Bentley manual for '02-'06 MINIs. It's just a repair manual, but it is a "complete" manual. The manual retails for $100, but you can find it for about $70 if you shop around.

 

I have these two (both good). The first covers the classic Mini only. The second does a great job covering the origins of the new MINI.

1. Essential Mini Cooper. The cars and their story 1961-71 & 1990 to date. By Anders Ditley Clausager. Published 1997.



2. MINI by Patrick C. Paternie. Published 2002.

 

I received "The Little Book of MINI" by Brian Laban from my wife for Christmas (a full 2+ months ahead of my ordering my first MINI !).

It's more of a coffee table book but a fun read on the history of Mini & MINI with more of an emphasis on the original Mini and the various models, options & racing history. It's only 128 pages and measures 6" x 6" so the title fits rather well. A fun read for anyone not aware of the Mini legacy that was inherited by BMW.
