I was able to get my tires mounted today, I will hopefully test fit them on the car tomorrow. My tire guy couldn't stop talking about how much he loves these tires on his autoX car, and how I put a really good package together. It made me a lot more excited for this season. I should be saving at least 20lbs per corner getting rid of the stock wheels and runflats.
The car probably won't see rain but I was told the wet traction is great.

They would be excellent tires for any Mini, especially one that's gonna be tracked. What wheel/tire size did you go with? Take some pictures when you get them on.

205/50/15. I decided against 225's because I wasn't sure how much clearance I would even have with the 8" wide wheels. These 205's are actually quite wide.

Definitely a slow warm up today so far. We just went above freezing around noon. Warmer temperatures on tap for tomorrow and Tuesday. Still advertising another cold shot on Wednesday (probably Tuesday for you), but shouldn't last long.

Its amazing to me the temp swings across the nation right now... New England area is cold with that storm front that came through and we are flirting with 93-deg out here in Phoenix today. Which is warmer than normal so we should drop back down into the 75-80 bracket by midweek and this coming weekend.
The test fit went well, all 4 new Alta end links were put on too. There are some very tight spots between the wheel and the shock, and between my 22mm rear sway bar and the coilover spring, but I think I can get it all worked out.
I weighed the wheels vs. my stock wheels, I'm down 13 lbs per corner. The suspension hasn't even settled yet so I'm hoping it will be 1" lower.

It is amazing. We've been all over the place temperature wise the past 3 months up this way. Has been a roller coaster Winter again. At least we ended up with a little more snow on the ground here in the foothills and mountains than the last couple of Winters.
Spring officially starts tomorrow at 6:28 am EDT, for you it's 4:28 am MDT, so maybe that will start to ease the really chilly temperature swings a bit from here on till Summer. Mother Nature sometimes seems to disregard the whole seasonal package stuff. I think she may have taken a cue from Mini's "Not Normal" page lately.

The RE71Rs in this same size are my current track tire. I ran them most of last year, both wet and dry, for my track days and, yes, they are great in the wet. In the dry they were able to match or better the lap times I got with the 225-45x17 Toyo R888s (an Rcomp tire) I had been running (at almost twice the price). Their feel is as good as the R888 (very quick response to inputs, and predictable) and they are better than the Dunlop ZII that I have also used. However, they do seem to be wearing quickly and they are noisy (similar to the ZIIs and not as noisy as the R888s). With the wear has come a loss in wet performance but it doesn't seem to be any worse that the worn set of ZIs that I had. As for overall wear, the Bridgestone people say it is relatively quick for the first half of the tread depth and then improves. I guess I'll see this season.

Understand. Only got to 36 degrees here briefly today. It should warm up pretty soon. Sun's just getting higher in the sky each day and stronger.
My NRG adapter finally showed up this week. So I got to install my Momo steering wheel on an NRG gen 2.5 quick release hub. It feels really good in hand with my gloves on.

Yes, I got a full season out of them, which for me was 8 days on the track (4 to 5, 20 to 30 min sessions per day). Not sure how many miles they have on them as I basically only run them on the track. I drive to the track with a different set of tires on the car and change them out at the track. I hope to get between another 4 to 8 track days out of them this season.

We took our Mini over to Long Beach for a nice Sunday drive. Had to check it out as it was a nice day after a long winter! Was too much traffic at times (and on the nice stretches!) All in all, a nice day.
Everyone seems to have Spring fever. It was sunny, the temperature hit 40 degrees by 11 am, so the Roadster came out, the top went down and we had to go for a ride into the village and then to the still frozen lake. The temperature was 44 degrees when we got back a couple of hours later. It was nice. The sun made it feel like 60 degrees out there. May have been the snow reflection amplifying the sun's effect...
Here's one without the basket. I'll update on the weekend once it I put on the basket.
Finally got around to installing and taking pics. I tested driving the basket both with and without the base fairing. The wind noise was kinda unbearable with both on, so I took the fairing off during my little test run. Here it is with just the basket.
There is enough clearance to both tilt and fully open the sunroof.
I even got to test the basket out when I helped a friend move. I think I'm ready for some road trips.
