MINI Roadside Assistance Smartphone App
MINI Roadside Assistance Smartphone App
Hey North American Motoring,
By now you may have heard that MINI Customer Relations has worked with MINI Roadside Assistance to develop a Smartphone app that we hope you'll never have to use.
This app will make the dispatch process much easier. Just think... No more side-of-the-road stress syndrome, all you need is your phone and your fingers.
No need to try to remember the VIN or the last mile maker you passed. The Smartphone app will allow you to register your MINI and have the ability to transmit your location as well as the service you need over to the friendly reps at our MINI Roadside Assistance call center.
Here are some of the details:
• Right now it’s only available for the iPhone (all versions) and Blackberry Bold/Curve. Carriers AT&T, Alltel, T-Mobile, TracFone. We are working on expanding phones and carriers.
• The app is free to download, and there is no charge for service if you still have MINI Roadside coverage.
• Right now you can only have one MINI on the app, but the next version will enable you to have your entire fleet.
More info and the download is available now at: http://www.allstateroadsideservices.com/mini/

The iPhone version seems to have been removed from iTunes. I downloaded it sometime ago and have it on my iPhone 3G. When I tried to update it today, it said it was no longer available.
The link to download it from http://www.allstateroadsideservices.com/mini/ resulted in this error message from iTunes.

I've noticed the same thing, I managed to grab it just before it disappeared. Now iTunes says there is an update for the app, but when I try to update it I get the same error message. I wonder if it has anything to do with the upcoming release of the BMW version in about a week?

I can't find where I read this within the past few days, but I think there's a new version coming out on April 8th. The new version will be a new release for some phone models and will have some new features for iPhone and other phone models that had this app already.
I'll keep looking and post the article if I can find it.
