My MINI was hit... but not hard enough!

My wife took my car to the high school to pick up our son. While waiting, somebody backed out and bumped it near the right front wheel.

Nearest the top, the trim no longer fits flush to the metal (about a 1/16" gap for about 3-4 inches) and the right side bonnet latch is not as snug as the left...If you push down near the headlight you can feel some slop. And at the back edge where the bonnet meets the A-panel you can tell the bonnet is ever so slightly sticking out further and isn't flush with the A-panel.

Problem is, other than that there is no outward sign of damage. I can't imagine what they'll be able to adjust to fix this. If I were to blame, I wouldn't fix it, but sad part is I'll probably have to live with this.

Now if they had just smacked me a little harder I would have most likely gotten a new bonnet out of the deal.

Damage is damage. You might be surprised at some of the claims that we handle... I've seen estimates as low as $65.

If you have the other driver's info, report it to your and their insurance company. You''ll have no deductible to pay and it will be fixed to your pre-loss condition, regardless of how minor it is.

If you didn't get the other driver's info, it may be a waste of your time. Most states have an Uninsured Motorist deductible that's anywhere between $200-300.

Sorry to hear about this. I'd try to get it covered first. If that doesn't work, let your wife pick your son up a few more times.

Already been reported and the other driver admited fault. Neither that nor the cost of the repair is the real issue. The issue is that the damage is so slight that it's not that they would fix it but whether they can...

Post a pic of the damage but it sounds like it is totally repairable.
