VPC issues at Brunswick (Anyone else having problems?)
VPC issues at Brunswick (Anyone else having problems?)
So... I'm having some issues with the VPC at Brunswick. I know that they have a "history" of having issues with getting cars out as per this thread, but my problem is a wee bit different.
My new MCS arrived safe and sound at the Brunswick VPC early last week (Monday or Tuesday). Being that it was the week of Christmas and all, I wasn't holding my breath for it even being on a truck by the end of the week, but as of Friday my MA emailed me and said "Hey, your car is on a truck, but it hasn't left the VPC yet." Well... it's Monday and there is still no sign that the truck has left Brunswick or is leaving any time soon. Maybe I'm very ignorant to the process and it's normal for a loaded truck to sit around at a distribution center for four or five days, but this is causing major issues (i.e., if the car doesn't get here by Dec. 31st, we have to pay property taxes on both my new one AND the one I'll be trading in - redneck KY laws). So, I was really kind of counting on the car to be in before the end of the year to keep from having to pay all kinds of fees on the car that's being traded.
Now it's entirely possible that I'm waaaaay off base here, but I can only think of a couple problems that could be going on. My MA has been at the dealer since long before I bought my last MINI (he's probably been there since the store opened). He's told me that in all his time there, he's never had a car come through Brunswick; most of them come through Greenville. The only thing I can figure is that maybe the truck is waiting for more cars that are going up toward my dealership, and those cars don't exist since they're coming through Greenville, thus, holding up the truck. My other thought is that perhaps something bad happened to my MINI (God forbid). I guess it's also possible that I'm just being incredibly impatient since it's so close yet so far away.
At this point, I was curious if anyone else is having a problem with cars that arrived at Brunswick, GA last week. I'd also appreciate any input from anyone else who may know more about the process than I do (I confess I know almost nothing as my last MINI was bought from the lot). Also, if anyone has any other constructive advice or thoughts on dealing with situation, it would appreciated.
Thanks!
Jared
