MINI Cooper corrosion and warranty
MINI Cooper corrosion and warranty
i have a 2002 mini cooper and this year i have notice that on the bottom of the drivers side door closest to the front wheel the paint is bubbling up like rust will start soon. my mini has a six year warranty on corrosion. i contacted my mini dealer about 2-3 months ago and i have yet to find out what they can do to make my mini perfect again. since it is the end of the year i am afraid that the warranty will expire and i will be left out in the cold. will a luxury car dealership do that to it's customer? is anyone else experiencing these problems? i am in need of assistance.....
Yep it's true. I had problems with my door brakes on my '03 MC a few months before the warranty ran out. They told me they would order new ones and let me know when they got in. Well... guess when they got in... about a month after the warranty was up. The left me high and dry.
The stitching started coming undone on the driver's seat of my '03 Cooper. I took it to the dealer in early '04 and they said they ordered a new cover and would call me when it came in. They never called me, and I forgot about it.
Perforation is holes, surface rust can be corrosion beneath paint or any other rust that does not cause holes in the metal.
The body should never rust through, as its galvanized.

it acutally worked
so here is the update. i took my mini up to towne mini and had the bmw represenative inspect my car on the rust that is has. the rep said it would be fixed under warrenty. i couldnt beleive it! they were all so nice and helpful to me. they said they would take care of everything and they would even give me a loaner. is this unusual for a dealer? im not complaining though.
