@#&%$#%* messed up my side skirt today.

I was doing a oil change with my pal today and upon jacking up the car, I have NO idea how, none, but the jack shifted and my car dropped before I got a chance to put in the jacks. Thankfully no one was under it. Nothing else is broken/messed up. Just the side skirt is bent at that area. Not even noticeable without a double take. Maybe this is a calling for a Aero Side Skirt kit...

Just spent money on snow tires and mounting and a oil change. At this rate...I'll never get parts.

Sorry, that hurts. It's great that no one was hurt but no fun doing damage to your car when you're trying to take car of her, karma will have to swing back your way.

Given that its currently about 25º outside and the snow is going to be coming soon, I'd suggest saving any side-skirt fix until the spring. That should give you a little time to save up for aero-skirts!

Any good places to buy the aeros painted PW? What's the price range for them? I know the OEM black onces are cheap. Like 100 bucks each.

To be honest I can't tell you what the aero skirts would cost painted, although I can try to refer you in the right direction. Julian at Sublime Restoration in Rowley is phenomenal. When I was thinking about having some work done on my 2003 MCS before selling privately I had him look at my car and give me an estimate. Just by looking at the bonnet air vents he was able to tell that my car was an early 2003 and after looking under the hood at my fender liners could tell I had had body work done somewhere else that had not done a great job. I was very impressed and he was only going to charge $75 per non-aero side skirt. He knows MINIs (classic and new) like the back of his hand and is very professional. Perhaps you could give him a call to get an estimate. As a warning, some places charge a lot for them.

I see you're quick on the draw in regards to inquiring about side skirts!

Oh yeah quick as lightning. I have someone who can sell me a OEM side skirt for the passenger side for 100 + 45 shipping. Only problem is that I had ordered a pulley/belt, ALTA intake, snow tires and a load of motor oil. Now that this happened, I need to wait a bit. But what you suggested is a good idea too. I'm sure people won't even see my side skirts with the amount of snow we're to get soon.

I had the exact same thing happen in September. Was thinking of the aero kit as well. Thanks everyone for the good information!

Ouchies on the damage! I just finished changing the oil on my new Clubman and didn't even bother jacking up the car. There was enough clearance to undo the oil. This will go away when the coilovers are installed and the whole car is lowered though. x.X

Does anyone know what prices I should expect for painted aero side skirts?

Any directions of where to go for them?

Something else...
...I was surfing NAM as usual and came across somebody that had non-OEM aero-kit-looking side skirts. I've never heard of the company before, but perhaps you could PM him to get some more info and prices. Here's a link:
