To me "motoring" means driving as an end in itself, regardless of destination. It is something we engage in and enjoy on its' own merit. It is not getting from point A to B...we "motor" when driving has a purpose and reward all its' own.

I agree with gokartride......it is sort of a sport/hobby all by itself. Going for a ride / finding a twisty and having some fun or not / for me chatting as I drive with my wife / just great time together--me and my car and most often my navigator(it is really her car), but on our "motoring" she lets me drive. Some how motoring is not quite the same in my Magnum.....I love the Magnum, but it just isn't the same

"Motoring" encompasses the joy of driving, Mini takes that to a whole new euphoric level.

I sometimes look back with amazement when I realize that every single time I have gotten in my MINI to motor over the years (since 1/03) it has been a great deal of fun...every single time!!! Doesn't matter where I was going, it's just the level of driver feedback one gets that makes the whole thing very engaging and enjoyable. For me it harkens back to my old Spitfire that was also a fun car to drive 100% of the time. Based on that sense of things, I've always felt that if a car was not fun when driven within the posted speed limits, then it was simply not good enough. A MINI is one of the few cars around that is that good.

Motoring to me is when you are in the zone...you got your shades on windows down, sunroof open, lip gloss shining, gettin' your groove on with a great song and just enjoying the open road in your MINI....

I think it's great marketing
But yeah, it's driving for the sake of its own enjoyment. Reminds me, I haven't driven around the little traffic circle roundabout cul de sac thingy at the end of my street yet.
BBL. Gone motorin'

I have just started Motoring. I don't want to stop. I haven't taken a long and winding road - yet! I am looking for some really good twisties here in Central PA. Next weekend may be the time. I'll also have my first order of Prima products, so I may have to split time between detailing and Motoring.

There is a driver/car feedback with a Mini. Comfortable, quirky, cool and serious fun to drive. It made rediscover my love of cars.

I have rambled, but I hope that I made some sort of point!

Motoring is merely a state of mind while driving a MINI. Just getting into Obie and movin down the road puts me into the motoring state of mind.

All of the above, plus taking twisties and turns a bit faster than my former car. And the wide wide grin when hitting the asphalt anytime and anywhere.

Motoring to me is getting out there and enjoying my MINI, with or without a destination in mind.

Motoring withdrawal is the worst nightmare of any MINI owner. Just ask cabriopilot. I can't even go a single day without getting behind the wheel of my MINI. Two and a half months in and I'm at 6000 miles. I just can't stop myself.

And why would I want to?

Despite what my series of signatures would lead you all to believe, motoring to me is "driving as a hobby," as well as a lifestyle.
