How Many MINIs Did You See Today?
Man I need to move to Cali so I can see more MINIs! Total count seen today only one
drove by it in the San Marcos Prime Outlet Parking Lot as I was leaving is was Chili Red/Wht with racing stripes (nice car!!). I was so excited to see one, I hardly ever see any even when I drive from San Marcos to San Antonio everyday. Bruce Banner gets lonely on our drives with no other MINIs to motor with.

Hey, new rule [since it's my thread.
]
Feel free to snap pics with your cell phone camera and post your MINI sightings in here. Try to keep the pics small so the thread does not blow up sideways. Also, don't get distracted or in an unsafe situation just to get a pic. Snap only if it's convenient.
Also, only post sightings for the day, meaning that you see that day. This is not for posting pics of MINIs in general.

August 18, 2008 - 14
Went to teach in Palo Alto. Saw about eight MINIs on the way down, three soft tops, which was a hoot because I like seeing the fruit of my loins.
When on the way back saw four on City blocks. Not many, IMHO. Thought for sure I'd see a lot parked, like I did the day before.
So all totaled about 14 throughout the day.

Saw only one yesterday, and it was the most important one. I saw it up REALLY close... and it changed as I saw it, at first it was dirty, then it was all wet and sudsy, then it was kinda hazy, now it's really shiny.
Aw man...San Francisco has us beat!!!
I saw ONE today - an electric blue w/ black. A guy from TX, who evidently was NOT aware of his surroundings, since he didn't even SEE me. !?!?

If its pictures that you want then you may want to checkout the Flickr website called "I Spy A MINI Cooper"
As for how many MINI's I see per day depends on where in town I go...
If I drive towards the downtown area of Greenville, South Carolina I am likely to see at least 20-30 MINI's per day.
In my neighborhood alone there is 3 homes with MINI's in the driveway.
At work there are 4 MINI's owned by employees and several others that belong to customers.
If I drive over to the BMW plant (5 minutes from my house) I'll see 10-20 MINI's in the BMW employee lots.

24 on my round trip road bike ride.
Only three were moving, all the rest parked. Odd, saw two electric blue moving on Van Ness, within about two minutes of each other. EB is not that common to where they would be two of the three MINIs I saw in motion.
Seems silver MINIs and white were the popular colors, saw about 5 of each in those colors.
Knew it was going to be a high count on my bike ride when within a few blocks from my place I saw three parked on Jackson Street, a residential area. That is, three parked right next to each other!

This thread got me counting at lunch time today. During the 60 minutes I spent having lunch and heading to the bank, while in Scotts Valley, California, I saw 7 MINIs. Only one cabrio (my wife's cool blue, as she was meeting me for lunch.) No Clubmans. Color tally:
British Racing Green: 4
Cool Blue: 1
Yellow: 1
Red: 1

In keeping within MichaelSF's rules for posting how many MINI's I see in a day I decided to take a short drive over to the BMW
Employee lot to see how many MINI's I could find.
After driving down one row I grew tried of taking pictures and decide that one row out of who knows how many would be enough.
So with that said, here are my pictures of MINI's I spotted within a 10 minute period in Spartanburg, South Carolina...
To prove that no two are alike, might I suggest you look closely at each one or click on the picture for a larger view.

If on the MINI employee lot, you would think they would sell those to make some money.
If they are around town, that's a lot of MINIs.
If it's a combo of both, then San Francisco still has you beat.
Nice posting and pics albeit it makes my car about as unique as a telephone dial tone.
Nor is there any MINI's manufactured at this plant only BMW's.
On my original post I said there might be around 10-20 MINI's in the BMW plant parking lot but I was wrong, there is more like over 100 MINI's in the one lot.
That would mean that when work at BMW lets out their shift around 3:30pm you have that many MINI's jumping onto I-85 to head home.
The MINI's in the picture are the personal vehicles of the BMW Plant employees, they do not belong to BMW.

Heck, I did not know that's what you meant.Well, get counting on the freeway on-ramp!
Reminds me of when I visited a Coke bottling plant for a meeting. Went in and saw a bottle of coke at every person's desk. And they had a Coke vending machine in each work area. I don't know if the employees were "brainwashed" into thinking they like the stuff, drank it only to kiss butt to the higher ups [team player sort of thing] or if they were addicted to it.
Like all rules and laws on the books, I gotta amend mine.
BMW plants, MINI car lots and regional MINI club get-togethers do NOT count.
Nor do special events like that Magical MINI event coming up in September.
So there....

So if I hang out down the street from the BMW Plant and wait for their shift to end can I count them as they drive past me to get on the Interstate?
Or is there some sort of radius that is governed by the rules set in place hereforth and without undue mediation or retribution set in action by precedence?
