Think you drive a lot?
My husband commutes 240 miles a day, 5 days a week. Plus he drives 170 miles on Saturday so that he can fly/tow gliders. He drives a Honda Insight, though, and calls my MINI a gas guzzler.
(Oh how I miss flying... but not avgas prices...)
I'm not trying to say that I drive a lot, but.. I will say that I have already put more miles on this car in the first three months of ownership than I put on my Corolla in that same amount of time. In this time, I have done many things that I never did in the corolla like... road trip to Seattle... twice. I have gotten behind the wheel just for the heck of it and have driven around for an hour many times for one simple reason.
I love driving this car.
I took possesion of Viola on May 24th. I've put just over 3,000 miles on her since then. That's a thousand miles a month, and is probably about right for most people's driving habits, but I never drove anywhere before I got this car, and looked for excuses to avoid driving before. Now, if we need milk from the store, instead of asking my hubby to go, I grab my fob.
I'm not surprised to see some of the numbers I'm seeing on this thread because, let's face it folks, you didn't buy a MINI to not drive it.

Just hit the 25k mile mark!
"Issues" thus far:
Front tires BALD (hehe)
Need brakes
Replaced windscreen already
Sunroof is quirky in the heat
Windows randomly refuse to auto-up or randomly roll down when parked
Rear "raingutter" is falling off
Paint is peeling on roof and bonnet (may be related to bird poo, but dealer is repainting)
-PermaGrin has set in

I thought you guys bought these things to DRIVE.
I bought her at 24K miles 17 months ago and will register 69K this week.. Still on the same 4 tires with many twisty runs on them.. finally did the rear brakes about 3K ago and change oil and filter with OEM regularly at about 8K.
Everything else has been GREAT without problems except I DID replace the windshield at 49K (Warranty covered it)
Get out and ENJOY rather than just look at it!

I'm doing 5,000 miles a month which is just my daily commute to the shop. I bought Nitto Neo Gen's in March at 64,000 miles, and 5 months later at 89,000 miles. Never rotated, and the fronts are at about 50%. Probably will get another 10 or 15,000 miles on them. I've had a lot of Falkin Ziex 512's previously and didn't get that kind of durability from them--but I did change the suspension and got everything aligned and that's helped with tire wear tremendously which is very important to me now. I get about 300 miles to the tank, so I'm filling up twice a week--which is good, I adjusted my driving style and brought it down from 3 fillups a week to 2--my gas budget was killing me when it was nearly $5 a gallon.
