Having second thoughts....
I am coming down the day that I will be parting with my Civic and getting into the seat of my new Mini. I am having second thoughts about leaving my Civic, I have spent countless hours cleaning and maintaining the car. I guess this would be fairly normal for anyone getting rid of a car, as long as they didnt hate it. Any words of wisdom or comments of encouragement to get me through the hell week that is to come?
Is the car paid for ? Did you trick the car out with a lot of mod's ? Do you have a place to store the car ? If the answer is yes to these questions than I would keep it AND get the Mini ! I myself gave up my 86 MR2 when I took delivery of my Mini and regret selling him. I bought the car new back in 86 and had done a few mod's to the car such as Suspension and wheel and tires. I Auto X'd the car every other month and just had a ball driving him. I loved that car and had no reason to sell it. I really regret selling him. One of the finest cars I've ever owned !
Here's a picture of my "MR Two".
I miss him very much !

I just polished out a 2008 Black (Metallic blue actually) Civic and well, while it looks decent on the outside, it just didn't feel "nice" inside. And while I looked at the shiny Civic in my garage last night--as it spent the night--it just didn't spark any sort of "love" like my MINI does for me. I think you'll get over it prety quick.
Hey Paulie,
I knew we had more in common that I didn't know about yet, lol. I test drove a black MR2 back in 1986 at the local dealership and THAT was the car I wanted to own one day (course I was only 16). The short shifter that I could flick with my wrist was awesome--course I was driving a manual BMW 320is at the time (well part tiem) with no power steering or anything, as well as a family Volvo wagon, so the MR2 was REALLY nice.
I'm going to add one to my collection one day when I have a larger house and money to actually spend on toys like that, lol....course the MINI is soooo much more practical, lol.

I had a call about the car today and just got back from showing it. The buyer seems really interested but they are also looking at an RSX. They talked about the price with me and I told them I would let it go for 11600 but I feel more comfortable selling it for 11800 cause I took care of it so well. I feel a little better about it, I mean I am essentially trading it for a Mini with more HP, less weight, projector lights, Sport - Premium - Cold weather packages, etc...
The part where we coordinate the transferring of title to my car to the buyer through my finance company and the transfer of money and title to and from the mini owner, is going to be the adventure.

So... after a slow day at work I decided to look around at the different nations Mini sites. below is a screen shot of the Mini.CA site... the "car" that it is referring to in the image looks identical to mine, I'm convinced that it is subliminal messaging.

I also used the Miniincubation to see what my Civic would be in Mini form. Its a pretty cool little tool, give it a try.
