2nd Gen seats fit 1st Gen?

Just curious - since I plan to add leather to my 04 MCS, if the seats are interchangeable with the 07+ models. I suspect the rears may be different but I really have no idea. Just trying to expand my options.

Anyone know for sure?

I haven't read about anyone trying it. Lets us know though, could be a viable option for those that want to remain stock, but want seats that are a bit more comfortable.

So we need someone to measure bolt-to-bolt distances between the two seat rails as well as distance between front bolt and rear bolt. If these match up between generations, the seats will at least physically fit using stock mounting rails. Then next check will be that the electronic connector will plug in and work the same between years.

Everything is possible. If the seat rails don't fit, you could find something to adapt them to the r53. If car customizers can do awesome interiors on any car.. It can be done....

They won't just bolt in.

Reader: Tio Barry: Can the front seats for the new car be retrofitted into the current MINIs?
MF: No - the base is different.
