West Virginia part Two
We won't hold it against you that you didn't know the WV anthem. I had to learn it too. Plus, it reality, it's about the western end of Virginia and not West Virginia (but no one ever talks about it because of the hallowed meaning to WV!) I'd advise going to at least one football game, though - just because we do football right around here. Just make sure it's a Marshall game and not that other football team from the other side of the state!
MiniEsq is being polite...
but she's referring to USPaM.
University of Southern Pennsylvania at Morgantown <g>.
("I kid because I care" ... to quote Chris Meyers <g>.
Although I'm a fan of both schools, for what it's worth.
Side thought.
MiniEsq , are you going to the spring practice in Charleston Saturday?
Seems I have the day off afterall <g>... and will be heading over to it.

Spotted another one
Hey Guys,
Saw a light blue (electric/oxygen?) with white top zip out of the UC campus and turn up 119 from MacCorkle on my way home today. Couldn't get closer than 3 cars in between us, so I didn't see any details.. I thought about following, but decided stalking wouldn't be as easy in rush hour.

Wasn't me....I have a black top and I spent all day at my office in Huntington. I don't know of any other oxygen blue Minis around....but there is an electric blue Mini with a white top that I've spotted a few times in the Huntington area (actually left a note on it once but got no response). Maybe it was in Charleston today....
run update
Hey Gang,
Okay, got a good run in with the DC crew. MiniEsq, here's how it goes-- Leader first, followed by the more cautious drivers, with faster drivers in the rear. Every driver keeps a mini in the rearview mirror. That way no one is left behind and the group travels only as fast as the most cautious driver.
Faster drivers in rear due to the fact that invariably they get split up at intersections and such. We may have less of that where we run than up north...
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!!!!

bcski: Wow - that's a very different format than the runs I've been on with Audi clubs. I guess that works too.
GonePostal: I have to be nice about WVU. My boyfriend went to school there. Our relationship only works because he doesn't like football. Otherwise, it would be war come football season.

Country Roads MINI's is now open for business... or whatever. <g>
Just wanted to let everyone know we now have a separate sub forum
here on NAM for our group.
I figured that it would allow for more varied discussions among our group,
and would really help us to grow as a club.
Hope everyone puts it to use.... and that you all think it was a good idea <g>.

Postal, I'm really digging the white top and white wheels.
Also, about the run, I figure if we can get at least two 2-way radios, it would be a good idea. Give one to the lead and the other to the rear driver. That should greatly reduce the risk of someone getting separated from the pack. For what its worth, I have a portable GPS that I'll be bringing along.
Also, I'm 24. I don't mind being the youngest, its the same way at my work. However, if my GF ends up going, she'll have us all beat seeing that she is a majestic 19 years old.

Thanks for the kind words...
and feel free to clean those white wheels any time you see me slacking <g>.
I love the look, but hate the brake dust <g>.
And I will refrain from making any snide comments about 19 years of age.
Heck , I was that once.... lets see, Reagan was president, Marcus Allen won the Heisman,
and the first woman was named to the Supreme Court.
Oh, in car related news, the Delorean was first built <g>... been awhile, huh?

More or less...
I plan to be there a little early (10:15 or so), in case anyone else shows up
then. Plan to leave at 10:45 if all goes as planned.
MiniEsq... not to be too blunt, but that sucks.
Was really looking forward to your being there. Any chance you'll make
the spring game Saturday? I'm guessing you've got to go out of town for
work....

My fault ... miscommunication.
The WV contingent has our own forum setup under the heading
Country Roads MINI's.
Snypr had set up a thread under that titled Hawk's Nest Run.
In that thread we had been discussing the weather being potentially
miserable for Sunday, and due to the low numbers planning to go, decided
to try again in a couple of weeks.
I mistakenly thought folks were aware of that thread... and suggested
we meet for lunch in Barboursville instead.
Totally my fault that the word didn't get out, and for that I'm sorry.
I'm glad the three that made it had a good time. If I had known
of the three... I would have not made the lunch plans and would have
joined you all.
The lunch meeting was great... but I feel I didn't do right by those that
did head up Hawk's Nest way. I hope we can have another run in the
near future, where we can get together as a larger group.....
