All right... need the sun, and need my MINI <g>.

The detailing fairy just dropped off a large box from Detailer's Paradise <g>.
(Thanks Heather)

Now if the sun would just come out, (and act like it would stay out) , I'd
go ahead and start in on learning how to use my new Porter Cable.

I may need to see the doctor again though... seems like I've come down
with a bad case of microfiber out the wazoo <g>.

(Did I mention it was a LARGE box of supplies <g>)

Now I need to head out and pick up a nice long extension cord, and I'll
be all set. Think I'll go grab some lunch, and give Jay a call while I'm in
a good mood too <g>.

On the other line... left message.

Basically just asked him to check with the vdc and see if he could get
a "best guess" as to when to expect it. He's not been able to find out
much previously when I've called him (concerning the boat) , so I'm not
expecting a whole lot now either.

Reading all the threads I'm starting to think it will most likely be next week.
If I figure Sunday at the dock. Monday shipped to Greenville, SC to VDC.
Tues. at the VDC processing. Wed, and Thursday Shipped, MIGHT make
Cincy Friday.

Figure that's a best case scenario. Most likely there will be a glitch
somewhere in the various steps.

Folks in other threads talk about the VDC being backed up. Not sure what
to think. Even if it's next week, I'll probably still be good to go for the
13th.

(My doctor's appt. for Wed. had to be changed. Moved to Thursday. I'll play
it by ear, but may see if I can return to work early next week.)

This may give me time to pick up the MINI Monday or Tuesday if needed.

BTW, I also agree we need some sun. My poor Winnie has not been washed in way too long. I think she's getting angry with me. I started to wash her this weekend - checked to make sure I had a full day of sun - and then found out it was going to rain today. The rain, with all the driving I have to do this week, made me change my mind about washing her. My boyfriend says he'll wash her for me next week when he's off....but I'm sure that will depend on if any of his cars need washed.

About the delivery - I've been through this twice with Jay and I still can't remember for sure. I think I had it from the dock to Cincy within days both times, though. I think it took a day or two to get on the truck and then another 2-3 days to get it to Cincy. Cincy seemed to be pretty early on the delivery route for me but I don't think that it always the case. I'm the lucky one - less than a month passed between the day I ordered it and the day it got to Cincy. The first time, it was delivered on a Friday (Jay's day off) so I got a call on Saturday that it was in and they rushed it through the stuff they do there at the dealership so I wouldn't have to wait a week until I had a day off to go get it. The second time, it was delivered on a Wednesday or a Thursday so they took their time getting it ready and I picked it up on a Saturday.

So, yeah, all that to say that it should only be a few days and that Jay is really nice about rushing it through so you can pick it up as soon as possible if it comes in on a weekend. Just keep in mind that Jay is off on Fridays, though. If you haven't heard anything by Friday, you can call and try to get someone else to give you an answer (although I didn't have much luck with that) or call early on Saturday - if it's there, try to talk Jay into rushing into the line to get ready so you can pick it up by the end of the day on Saturday.

If it's not there Thursday...

Which I doubt <g>... I'll be calling the sales manager on Friday asking if they
are expecting a truck that day. If so , and mine shows up... that I'll be in to
pick it up on Saturday. It would help everyone if they got it ready <g>.

Of course, if it shows up Saturday, that's a different story. Of course, I'd
think we'd be able to find out if it's on the road by Thursdayish and can plan
accordingly.

Don't discount Saturday delivery and pick up. I thought my first one came in on Friday but the more I thought about it, I think it actually came in on the morning delivery on Saturday....and I picked it up on the same day.

It's just a few more days.....these are the hardest....which leads to the happiest when you pick up your new baby!

Oh, and I noticed your sig a little while ago and I meant to tell you - I have a tshirt with the Mini logo that says "British Styling, German Engineering....thank goodness it isn't the other way around." (I had to buy it - my boyfriend has two Audis that he loves!)

I'm being patient <g> more or less...

And the sig's something that seemed to fit the MINI.
Maybe subconciously I've seen the shirt, and that's why it came to me <g>.

Of course , one variation I'd considered ended in "Redneck driver" , <g>.

(Other idea for a sig I had, which might make a better bumper sticker was:

RICE: Not my cup of Tea

Image would be:
Rice stalk or sheath (whatever it is on left, Teacup or British hat on right) <g>.

I'm still waiting for news <g>

Did manage to shave .75% off of my loan interest rate today <g>.
(Yay me !!!)

Also, my wife and I saw another MINI to "tag"... but it was going in
the wrong direction for me to chase. Does anyone know the MINI
owner in the Scott Depot area with the license plate "PEEP" <g>?

Might be someone I've emailed and can't get ahold of...

(BCSki... speaking of the loan. If you financed the difference from your
trade in you might want to consider checking with Pentagon Federal ...
they just lowered there rate to 4.25 today. Not bad , from what I've found.)

SnYpR: Nice pictures! I'm glad your Mini is back....

And on the topic of spotting someone....

A blue Mini (It looked blue - it was still dark outside) with a white roof (again, I think it was white) passed me on I64 today going towards Charleston between the Scott Depot exit and the St. Albans exist....approximately 6:30am (give or take 15 minutes or so).....anyone on here??? Anyone?? Bueller???

Yep, you did... <g>

But after mine sat dockside at Southampton, it was hard to be
optimistic.

Needless to say... I'm now a go for the Hawk's Nest run.
(You need to tell folks to either talk fast next week.... or to hold
off til Tuesday or Wed. following, so you can make the run <g>.

(Oh, saw another MINI on the way to my heart doc this morning.
Red/white with a vanity plate , I think, 4 for 40 on it, or something
like that...)

It looks like I'm going to make the run.....

I've been hesitant to say it because I was sure I would jinx it but, as of now, I'm going to be there.

A Quick thank you to BcSki <g>

R O A D T R I P !!!!!!!!!!

Wanted to let everyone know the kind of folks we have on this board.

BcSki has kindly offered to drive approx 12 hours round trip tomorrow
to help a fellow MINI owner get his new toy... namely Me.

We'll be heading out bright and early... (in his case dark and early) ,
and running over to Cincinnati to make the pickup.

This is above and beyond the call of MINI duty.

It's greatly appreciated, and appropriate photo's will be posted tomorrow
night.

Man , I'm psyched <g>

Let's go Motoring <g>.

Oh, and Sunday a week is looking better and better <g>. We need to
get the word out to everybody we can for the get together... <g>.

(I think I'm going to need a new G for my keyboard. Either that or switch
to emoticons <g>)

On the other hand, I do expect prompt pictures tomorrow night.

BcSki...

One thing my wife reccomended I mention to you.
Earlier I had said that you could call me when you see the Scott Depot
exit. I think they actually call it Teays Valley instead.

You'll know your near it when you see a Home Depot off to the right,
and a TA truck stop on the left. There's a shopping center on the right
as well.

I'll have the phone right with me , and will listen for your call. Thanks
again, and see you in the morning.

The Go Mart at the Hurricane exit is to the left when you get off the
interstate. I can walk there in less than 5 minutes.

Ok, I made it back home anyways <g>....

With the new MINI <g>.
Thanks again to BcSki for the assist. Greatly appreciated.

And for everyone's viewing pleasure <g>... two wet MINI's.

Mine's the Blue, BcSki's the Yellow.

We'll be giving free tours of them at Hawks Nest on the 13th <g>.

OOps... tried to upload a pic... didn't work. Not sure what
I did wrong, but I posted the same pic in another thread.

I guess you could do a search on the ship "Integrity" and find
the pic that way <g>....

(If I figure it out, I'll try again later ....)
