Last ride in my MINI

The time has come for my Mini and I to part. I cannot afford the monthly payments anymore, and she must go back. I took one final trip with her out to Eureka Springs, AR and spent the whole day out there over the weekend. I've had a blast driving her/owning her...I've got many memorable moments in her. The best experience in owning my Mini, however, is being a part of a lifestyle and this community. I plan on getting another one in the future, but this next time I'll get the S instead

Awww....I'm sad for you... Really..... But as long as you have your vision for a future one, maybe that will help? I know it sucks to get rid of it, but there will be another one.....

I'd eat nothing but ketchup packets before I'd sell my MINI.

The bad state of our economy is really impacting people's lives. And this is just the tip of the iceberg..

Last ride

Sorry you have to give up your mini. I have an 07 convertible which I love. I may have to consider giving up my husband of 25 years before the car. I hear you know him, Luke Shields. Hi, I am Norma Shields. Ya'll have fun in Vegas while I am still here working.

Take care.

Thanks everyone. I'm really gonna miss my MINI. But yeah, the economy is pretty much what's doin it for me.

I think I'm gonna take one last drive down Pigtrail before I let her go (the temptation to drive her in the twisties is too strong)

I took the last ride in our Mini this morning and watched it drive away without me about 5 minutes ago. We are Mini-less for the first time in 5 years.

Damn.

Are your cars getting repossessed or something?

yumm ramen noodles, if it weren't for my tax return this year i would be super depressed. thank god for the refund check. oo that stimulus will be nice when i get it in june. i might spoil myself and buy some juice and chicken. i really miss food. but ramen has like 7 flavors so i switch it up everyday.

early_apex, I know it was hard - I watched you watch us as we drove off - please be assured that your wonderful Mini has gone to a good home. Husband is happily making plans to get things for it this morning - first and foremost a front license plate holder, since Minnesota requires plates front and back. We're upset about marring it's perfection, but what can you do!

It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday!

preludestuntin - you'll get another one, you will. Once a Mini-owner, always a Mini-owner. Kinda like the Marines - once a Marine, you're ALWAYS a Marine. Buck up, one will come your way again!

I know exactaly how you feel, If mine wasn't paid for I would have to get rid of it, I even considered trading down so I would have a little extra money, but I can't part with it. I have been out of work for 10 months and it's tough but I'm doing okay. You hang in there and you'll get another one someday.

You can get a front license plate bracket that screws into the front tow hook mount, so you dont have to drill the bumper.
Go MINI Go has them.

Hey, I think my wife and I met you on the way to Vegas in 04 or 05. We had a black MCS and if I remember correctly you had a red MC at that time, is that right? We were in a caravan of cars from somewhere in CA. There can't be that many Sandies from Yreka that own Minis, can there?

Yeah, I put alot of work in making sure that bumper wasn't drilled I was going to make them put a new one on or order me another car if they drilled the bumper.

FYI, WI and WA both require front plates, but we've been driving w/o them forever with no problems.

just leave the dealership sticker on the car and the cops think it is still a new car when looking at it from the front...I live in Cali and thats what i do and never get hassled for not having a front plate on...
