General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
My '06 full JCW, w/ many options, came in around 37K- my 2nd MINI, so I knew what I wanted and what I could live w/out. Looking around, for that money, there was nothing else new even close to as practical w/ the same fun factor, period. Several 2 seater options, but if you want to golf or haul just about anything, game over. Couple that w/ the fact that it will outperform most of those comparably priced 2 seaters, and the well optioned MINI's price isn't so outrageous.
That just reminded me of my friend's 350Z that has pictorial instructions under the hatch on how to fit two golf bags in the back of the Z. Pretty funny that golf bags are what comes to mind for someone with a 350Z
if you notice on the parts builder/configurator you can add several sets of wheels... at 2500 a set those JCW wheels will add up fast. not too mention all the roof rack goodies. i'm sure you could hit a pretty high number like say 55k pretty quick
Well back in 2003, I loaded up my Cooper with most of the available options except for cold weather and the aero kit---that came out to about $24K. Course a lot of options have since been added. Where's the fun in specing all the optons at once?? lol. You gotta spread it out over time......
They purposefully bought everything a la carte, and rejected all of the packages, so it's not like this little 'exercise' has any basis in reality whatsoever.
I thought this was some contest of thiers to find the highest prices, or the biggest difference between MSRP and optioned price. Anyway, I find it hilarious that the porche suv could have options worth 2x as much as the car itself.
They load the Mini with every single option available. What a crock of sh*t.
The use the Canadian website for the SmartCar, which of course will show Canadian dollars (higher number than US dollars).
