weird problem...

it's really weird... this has happened like 4 times so far....everytime I put gas in....itz full.....however let's say i went home and came out couple hours later....my gas reading would be on the lighted red mark...sometimes I restart the engine to see if it wil go back up....it did go back maybe 2 times...but other 2 times it would stay on red until random moments when it would go up maybe in next day....anyone have this problem?

I have had this problem, on and off, and made my dealer aware of it so that when I take it in for my next service it can be addressed. I think it is the fuel gauge sensor. I think that there is a dead spot that causes it to randomly read as empty.

After a few more gallons get used it then goes back to giving the correct reading and continues to do so until the tank is truely empty. I find that the problem is much more severe in the warmer weather for some reason.

Mine has an October 2005 build date, which means it is a 2006 MCS. What is yours?

Sounds like you have a bad fuel sender unit or a problem with the wiring somewhere along the line.

Could be a problem with the float in the tank.
