DOG is my co-pilot!

Been meaning to post pics of my favorite new MINI accessory! My furry friend, Echo, had been previously banned from my MINI until I received my new dog mat. It arrived just before the holiday in time for our maiden voyage to Connecticut. Juliana at PoochStyle (www.poochstyle.com) worked with me to customize one of her standard designs and it worked like a charm. It is reversible and has a second mat to fill the well in the back of the boot (and it can be used separately as a regular dog bed). A tailored cover protects the back of the front seats and features a "dam" between the boot mat and the front seat that does a good job catching loose hairs (and there are many) before they migrate to the front or down between the seats. It also has a flap that covers the bumper though I have to remember to pull it out quickly otherwise he is in the boot ready to go. Aside from the fact I forgot how to turn off the motion alarm and he set it off at a rest area on the Jersey Turnpike, all went well. He looks kinda big in the photos but in reality, it was plenty roomy back there in the boot, accommodating one medium sized husky, luggage and assorted xmas loot.

You can get a better view of the mat in my gallery pics here! Obviously, I am quite proud of it!

Saint Bernards are too big for the front seat to be co-pilots, but our dogs are my cargo. . . .

My 03 MC has close to 95k miles on it, my Black Lab nav unit has been in the boot for most of them

Thanks!
Was actually one pooch short on this trip though -- lost his sidekick over Thanksgiving just short of her 15th b'day. Not sure what she would have made of the MINI boot, especially having to share close quarters with Echo (with whom she had a love/hate thing going) but she did have a thing for tight spaces. On long trips, she used to camp out up on the ledge behind the back seats of my Passat wedged under the back window. Looked comfy enough but not so good for visibility though I used to get a lot of toots & waves from passing cars.

Great pic! I see Petey likes his seat reclined!

Speaking of reclining seats -- did I read on here that there is a way to get set the back seats in a vertical position? Could definitely see how that could come in handy but I can't figure out how to do it.

Yes when I got Petey at 7 weeks old they predicted he would be a 35LB dog so I trained him to ride in the front seat. He grew to 70LBS & if I try to put him in the back seat he thinks he is being punished so a reclining front seat is a must

What do you mean by make the back seats vertical? That's how they are all the time

I got the impression from someone's post that the back seats can be set at a MORE vertical position so there is more room in the boot.

explain to him about riding in a limo like some celebrity instead of in the front seat with the hired help.

ok, somebody post a picture of some la la land celebrity's dog riding in the backseat of the limo........
