His & Hers, His & His, Hers & Hers, etc Owners Club?

I'm curious how many couples/families here are multi-MINI owners. Also, not looking for any controversy of any sort, but I'm especially curious how many other same-sex couples have MINIs (and no, MINIs aren't just gay cars!! lol). I'll go first.

Mine: 2007 MC SS/SS, bought off the lot, Premium, Cold Weather, and Sport Packages.

His: 2008 NR/NR, ordered 11-24-07, expecting delivery any day, Premium and Cold Weather Packaged, and a few extras.

Now, how about the mentality behind the decision to get your MINIs?

I've loved MINIs since I first saw them come available in the US in 2002, but of course I was 19 at the time and never could have afforded one. I recently settled into my teaching career and we decided it was time to get me a new car, as my '97 Ford Ranger is teetering on the edge of death these days. I wanted a green car that was fun to drive - so the MINI became the natural choice over a VW or Toyota of some sort. We started researching and it solidified the decision even more. So, we took the trip to Roadshow BMW/MINI in Memphis, TN (closest one and it's about 3 hrs away!) and drove home with Nicodemus.

Up to this point, he was going to wait until later in '08 and get himself a Smart ForTwo. Well, the idea of getting a MINI instead began creeping into his head, and after a week of riding around with me in Nicodemus, considering differences in quality and performance, he placed his order. Now we're just (im)patiently awaiting the arrival of Deimos, his '08 NR/NR.

Anyone else?

Hers: 2005 DS/Blue MCSC, Premium package. Pretty much stock except Auto-up circuit and Peace sign graphics from Aesthetic Creations.

We bought it off the lot because she couldn't wait for one to be ordered. Her original choice would have been HO/B, but now she wouldn't wouldn't have any other color except DS.

Mine: 2007 CR/W MCSC, Checkers everywhere. See sig

When they came out in 2002 I told my wife I wanted one but the time wasn't right. She said I was crazy since I am 6'2" I would be cramped. She said I'd be like the Grape Ape in that "Little car".

When the convertible came out in 2005 she said she wanted one. So that's what she got for Mothers Day that year. 2 years later we were able to finally order my dream car. They had some on the lot that were nice, but not exactly what I wanted. I have the patience to wait, so in June I got Chubby Checker.

Just checking in.

Mine is the moderately modded dragon slayer MCS, her's is the comfy cooper.

When it was time for her to get a new car, nothing, and I mean nothing, in our price range offered what MINI did.

My daughter has a LY Cabrio; her hubby has a Checkmate Edition in Space Blue/silver.

He's selling the Checkmate, though, I think.

Hers - '07 MC, Chili Pepper Red, Black Roof, Manual.
Mine - See signature.

Both had SUVS. Hers was an '02 Ford Explorer, Mine was a '99 Lincoln Navigator. Both our kids are in college and have their own cars, so we no longer needed all that space, plus I commute 70 miles each day to work and got tired of spewing out dollar bills down the highway! We loved our SUVs, but they just didn't suit our needs any longer so we put them on the market for some other families who might need the room. Both found good homes and we love our MINIs!

Forgot my 1st MINI A 03 CR/B Cooper. Ran like a champ but I just had to have a Cabrio

Also, took my brother to MINI of St Louis a couple weeks ago, & now he is the proud owner of a 07 PW/B Cooper S

My sister has an '02 MCa and we both still live at home, so that's two MINIs in the same garage. I need a new part time job...

2006 PW/B MC = Hers

2006 CR/B&W MC = Mine

2005 JB MCSC = Ours

Bought the two '06 Coopers new in June, 2006 as our daily commuters. Loved them both so much, decided to add an MCS Convertible as the weekend Fun Car last Spring. Soon after, we added Dr. Evil to the family.
