Hi, im new to this part of town(miniforums). Right now i drive a VW but i was wondering if mini would ever bring a diesel engine to the U.S., if so when do you think this would be?

 

Just the other side of never it seems. BMW has said NO, in a variety of interesting and amusing ways, when asked about bringing the Mini 1D to the States.

 

Dang i was hoping for them to come over in the next few years it would be pretty sweet

 

I think part of the reason behind this was due to the stricter emission regulations in the US? Maybe I am thinking of a different engine..

 

I have been hoping that once BMW brings over their diesels and see that they can work that one of these years they will bring over the MINI Diesel....thats about the only way I will get rid of my 06 MC. Really stinks but this has been talked about til we all turned blue.
