Bonnet

If I was to buy a MC would I be able to fit a MCS Bonnet on it? I really like the hood of the MCS but I am not sure if I am going to be able to afford a MCS. I think thats the really only diffrence other then the horse power right?

Thanks

I'm not sure if the MCS hood would fit on a MC. There is a horsepower difference, and the exhaust pipes are different, the cooper has 1 coming out the back side and the Cooper S has 2 in the middle. There are some other small differences, like the side markers. Both are great cars though, I'm sure you'll be happy with either one

It has been done on the first generation cars. There are plenty of other differences such as suspension, exhaust, bumpers and trim.

Are you planning on a new or used car?

I think I am going to go for a 2005 - 2006 used model (no convert). I have seen plenty within the 16000.00 - 19000.00 price range and that is what I am looking to spend. I really think I am going to go with the S though just becusae of those few small diffrences. I am going to be travelling alot! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I am not sure if I am going to be getting station in Illinios or Delaware. Is there any way I can some people to scout of some good deals towards the end of December? I will be in the states finally early to mid January. Also I will be taking leave in New York. I have had alot of bad luck with BMW (320I, 520I) in the past but, out of all the cars that I have looked at and test drove, the mini is the only one that makes me feel 2 again.

$425.00 for the bonnet from your MINI dealer. Plus paint and labor. Probably close to $900 once you're done.

yes...just spend the money and get an S....think about it....you are spending 900 on a hood...this will not increase the value of your car at all...infact it may turn people off from buying your car years from now when you go to sell it....just spend the money on the s...that way your car is worth what you pay for it.
