Minor scratch on windshield - any way to buff it out?

We were driving home from dinner tonight on one of the LOVELY Texas highways (ha ha), and a huge something or other flew up and banged Chequers right in the front windshield. When we stopped the car we inspected the damage, and there's a small scratch, not a chip and not a crack. Should I just leave it alone? It hurts my feelings more than anything. Are there any products that work? I do have windshield coverage, but this doesn't seem to be serious enough to warrant replacement. Thanks!

You can try a glass polish...Griot's makes a coarse and a fine glass polish, and I'm sure others do as well.

Otherwise, just live with it and wait for a good rock crack!

Some of the auto parts stores (AutoZone for one) sell a glass polishing pad that fits on a drill motor. It will help, but don't expect miracles.

You can always look for a winshield replacement company, they'll usually let you take the car in and have it buffed professionally, or you can have them do it while youre at work or something.

Try the Griots products, it won't cost you much, and there is no real downside.
