What does all this mean? Really, not much. While we do run the gamut of age, the average is actually a little higher than I originally anticipated, but at the same time, I think this is so because the MINI isn't really the first thing the usual teen-to-20-something thinks of when they are looking for a car to show off to their friends. On top of that, I think the price is prohibited to be really accesible to the mass of the <25 group - to which I feel incredibly fortunate that I am able to get one at my point in life.

I'll just take to heart the fact that we are still a pretty exclusive group!

 

Here is a histogram showing data collected in the MINI Owner's Lounge a few years ago. I suspect the basics of this curve remain the same. The average age is around 40 with ages ranging from mid-teen student driver up to ~80 years old

(The dip in the late 20s is probably reflecting young married folk who have financial obligations preventing them from "splurging" on a MINI.)

 

Hey! That's pretty close to the 92-person sample I was able to take here!

If anything, maybe there are more younger folk owning a MINI (more of a plateau on the young side of the histogram).

58. On the high end for MINI owners. In the last age group for soccer which isn't U anything, but rather, over 55 although I can't drive 55. I was the olderst backpacker on my recent seven day trip in the Weminuche Wilderness. Of course, I was the oldest on the drive from Denali to Santa Fe with my son although, among us all in this family, he is the oldest rugby player, yet the youngest in the family to break his collar bone.
