MINI Spotting

Why is it when I drive my MINI to work I rarely see another? But if I drive my pick-up truck, in the 15 mile trip, I'll see 3 or 4!

Don't know, Jeff...but I suspect the influence of Murphy here!!! I live around the corner from a bustling MINI dealership and there is most certainly a surfeit of MINIs around here. It's shocking!!! I wave at all MINIs I see...what their drivers do with that information is up to them.

I had never seen one near my house. Then the day after I ordered mine I saw one parked at my neighbors house for the first time AND I saw one driving down our street that is the same color combo as I ordered

I see one every couple of days or so. That's the way I like it. Around here, because of its uniqueness, I'm often approached by people asking about it. I imagine you California old timers dearly miss those days, those days when there weren't nearly so many MINI Coopers on the street and your car stood out as unique.

Ain't that the truth!

On days when I've got my car in the shop and have a rental, I'll see like five on my lunch hour.

Come to Idaho. There aren't very many here. I see the same couple about once a week, sometimes less. Saw the same DS lady this morning...I wave to her every time I see her, and she turns away...guess what??? Today she waved back!!!!

I know what you mean Jeff! this week was a perfect example. I drive my MCC and I'll see one, maybe 2... I drive the Element and I'll see 4-6 rightaway. I have to stop myself from waving so I don't feel foolish

Maybe I'll drive my MINI into Idaho then, I mean there are some rollercoasters in that state that I need to jump on.

I don't know but I live in South CA and I rarely see any mini's! I'll spot a couple here and there but that's in a week span! Though there was a mellow yellow MC that wave at me! It made my day! Other than that, I feel like I'm cool when i'm driving my unique mini!

My theory is that I don't see any MINIs anymore since I started driving one because I'm now the MINI I would have spotted before. But it's a rare sight to see a MINI around where I am to begin with.

I hadn't seen a MINI since July 4th when the Milwaukee club was in one of the parades... then today I see five! Out of three potential waves I only got one. One ignored me and one was on her cell phone. Par for the course...

Never fails for me too. I'll see way more MINIs driving my other vehicles. Sometimes when I am driving the MINI I'll get people waving at me in other vehicles. Not sure if they are just super friendly, have a MINI of their own or just like the car.

I do find myself waving at MINI's when I'm driving my truck, purely out of habit. I'm sure most people don't see it, but I do have a sticker on the truck stating that "My Other Car is a MINI Cooper"
This morning drove the truck & saw 3. Yesterday with the MINI, zero.
I think it's a reverse Patagnia picnic table effect.
