?? No More Broken Windshields ??
I have ClearPlex and it didn't cost $260...it was $150. A new windshield, which I had installed 4 days before the ClearPlex was $400. Seems like a no brainer to me.
It started as a large sheet, applied to windshield, then cut to fit.
It has taken several bits of whatever that would've normally pitted/scratched the glass w/o pitting or scratching itself. There are no smears as I am very careful not to turn on wipers on a dry day, unless I've pumped a lot of windshiled washer on to the glass.
Bug guts come right off too.

My thoughts as well...
So, what do you see when you drive into the sun... any pitting or other marring, or is it just clear like new???

clear..like new. No pits or sand-blast haze, like on my old windshield. I had to wait the 4 days before application because the new windshield glue had to cure. The car sat in my garage, so the surface was brand new when the ClearPlex was applied.
The only drawbacks, for me at least, is with polarizing sunglasses, the ClearPlex rainbows..but only at an angle, not looking straight out.
While optically clear, it tends to very slightly fracture horizontal and vertical lines. This was distracting at first, but i'm used to it now and don't even notice it any more.

Why not just lower the deductible on your comprehensive insurance? The difference between a $500 deductible and a $0 (or $50) one are far, far less than this product. I always keep mine at $0 and it sure has come in handy a few times because of rocks and the wrath of nature.
I still have a 500 deductible and it includes glass coverage with no charge for replacement windshields. Of course I'm paying a bit extra for this.
Driving in Colorado is rough on windshields in the winter. I would just as soon replace my windshield rather than spend additional money on something that will only last for several years anyway.

I picked up a bullseye the first week I had it...
and the pits are driving me crazy... but I know if I get new glass it'll just pit again... but now maybe not...
