Sound promising (expensive), but I can't help but wonder what 80 mph sand and road grime will do to the clear plastic sheeting. For those of you who live in the southwest (I did many years ago), you know that a windshield can end up pitted so bad in 1 day that it's hard to see thru at night.
No flames, just curious..

Sounds like a $260.00 NAM discounted windshield tear off like they use in NASCAR ,cut to fit. Which is basiclly clearshield like you use on the front bumper...

I have ClearPlex and it didn't cost $260...it was $150. A new windshield, which I had installed 4 days before the ClearPlex was $400. Seems like a no brainer to me.
It started as a large sheet, applied to windshield, then cut to fit.
It has taken several bits of whatever that would've normally pitted/scratched the glass w/o pitting or scratching itself. There are no smears as I am very careful not to turn on wipers on a dry day, unless I've pumped a lot of windshiled washer on to the glass.
Bug guts come right off too.

Isn't PU notorious/infamous for rebadging?
Solar Tint Solutions is a clearplex vendor and when they announced they were going to be at MOTD, I asked if they'd be doing the clearplex installs...unfortunately, they weren't, so I didn't buy it. I really wanted to see another MINI with the clearplex installed and if it looked good, I would've plunked down some $$$ in a heartbeat!
Palo Uber drives me crazy. Their overpriced items for one thing, but the thing that drives me crazy the most is their website. Their retail store has no organization at all, and basically has everything crammed in one section. Not to mention, when they post a "special" on NAM, they don't even bother including a link to it. Rather, they expect us to go to their website and find the "NAM Special" by sorting through all the other junk they sell... frustrating
. I don't even click on their ads anymore.

PREFACE: My nickname, Uber Blu, is a shortened version of Uber Blau (Hyper Blue in German) for my VA license plates...that being said, I want to make it clear that I have absolutely no affiliation with PaloUber whatsoever.

I'll add a little bit to this. The plastic was first used in NASCAR. It was a 'stick and peal'. Mostly 500 mile races, high speed, get messed up, take off, no broken windshields during the race.
We took the exact same product and applied it to the war zone. The sand in IRAQ was killing our hilocopter windshields in little or not time forcing us to take the bird our of action to change the window out, order new one, wait for it, $$$. We got the idea to use the peal and stick, put togeather a team, made special equipment to install it on site in IRAQ, not an easy task due to the climate/sand, as well as a little difficult by it's nature. Actually proved to be very helpful in increasing the amount of air time the bird was seeing. Still had to peal and stick but faster and cheaper than glass.
It's not a long term product in NASCAR or IRAQ either one. It has a special purpose for which it works very well. Think about it.

Why not just lower the deductible on your comprehensive insurance? The difference between a $500 deductible and a $0 (or $50) one are far, far less than this product. I always keep mine at $0 and it sure has come in handy a few times because of rocks and the wrath of nature.

Mine has been on for almost 3,000 miles (and they've been resurfacing all the major roads around here)and no problems..yet.
ClearPlex is not stick and peel. It's a single layer of optically clear plastic. It's automotive, and meant for domestic cars, not NASCAR and helicopter windshields...
