MOCD Support Group
Hi Margot! Welcome to our group
. Your Mini is scheduled to be completed tomorrow? Unfortunately, that doesn't sound good. Well it is good, but it probably won't make it to Southampton in time to make the next ship. Since you are in CA, it will be going by the shipping company WW. Their cargo tracking site is here. You'll need to click on Auto Cargo and then enter your VIN. You'll usually be able to get a "hit" about 3 days before you ship is scheduled to leave the port.
Well, actually you should make it, the next ship is scheduled to depart Southampton next Wed, August 8th. They've shifted the departure day a bit, it used to be every Monday. Your Mini generally needs to be at the port approximately 3-4 days before the ship is scheduled to depart. The next ship is in the schedule (the one for Aug 8th) is called the Tagus. It is scheduled to arrive at Port Hueneme on August 27th. That is actually a fast trip, it is only 19 days versus the typical 21 days shipping time.
I'm chomping at the bit at the moment. I'm scheduled to take delivery of my Mini in a little less than 16 hours. I have to say, it's been a long 3 months of waiting but it will be more than worth it.
Now, I'll give you my standard blurb
. It sometimes feeds the MOCD though,
. If you haven't already, be sure to read through the Detailing 101 sub-forum of Mini's in General. You can find a lot of information there on keeping your baby in showroom shape.
If we can be of any assistance, please let us know! We are here to support one another the best we can.

Tell me about it
Hubby just got off the phone with our MA. They received a truck today, but with no
Mini on it. Expecting another truck later, but they surely won't
be able to get it PDI'ed for weekend delivery.
Maybe I should just sleep through the rest of the weekend and wake up when the darn thing is ready.

Thanks for the warm welcome, all!
I AM on the Tagus, so have now memorized the berth # the various ports, the history of the WW line. . .
So, I looked at the Detailing 101 thread. . .OMG! Special mitts? Hydra vs. the special # system that starts with a z? And to think my Saturn has been going through the Mobil auto car wash that spurts purple, pink and blue stuff, much to my sons' delight!
Clay bar. . . microfiber. . . Uh oh!!!!
Gary - did you get your car yet?

Hi Margot, I'm glad your Mini made it onto the Targus. I think next week or the week after there isn't a ship scheduled for the West Coast so it's a good thing your Mini didn't get stuck on the dock at Southampton
The Detailing 101 top definitely contains a lot of information. And of course many different opinions about the best products to use or not use.
Yes, I picked up my Mini last Friday, I've had her for 8 days now (two of those she spent in the shop getting a clear bra installed). Here is a link to the pictures I posted of her.

I don't think she has even driven a Mini yet. I don't recall her ever driving our R53 and she hasn't driven Demi yet. I suppose I probably should let her the next time she comes down to visit
.
Thanks, it was kind of funny when my mother-in-law placed her order by saying I want what he got, except in black.

As I have been told on numerous occassions that I have OCD, I am glad that I found you guys! This is my 2nd MINI, both CR/B and I couldn't be happier! I find that all of the clothes that I buy now, right down to shoes, bathing suits, whatever, are always red and black. Anything I see MINI, I must get. I'm pretty sure that I spend more time with my MINI than with my friends (unless they are MINI people too). It's good to know that there's a group like this out there for those of us with MOCD. Perhaps they could make a grill badge for us!
I love the badge idea!
