Hi Dave! Welcome to the group . It'll probably get worse before it gets better.

I've already spent over a $200 on cleaning products/supplies in anticipation of keeping my MCSa shiny and clean. What did I order that cost that much you might ask?

Well, it started off by my reading through the Detailing 101 topic. I found out about the Zaino product line and ordered their ultimate showroom package (I'd have to look online or at my home email to say for sure) that I think cost me about 135 or so. Then I had to get some of the 303 product line, the leather cleaner and conditioner, the protectant one (I have to keep the dash in good shape, I don't want it fading out earlier from sun exposure), the carpet cleaner and a product to re-black the trim pieces. Well, that last one is more for my wifes '05 MCSa then mine, it has white marks on the trim pieces from previous waxings.

Then I came across Octane Guy's Black Wow so I ordered a bottle of that. Last night I ordered a wash bucket with the strainer to keep the sponge/mitt above any yuck that accumulates in the bottom, a starter collection of micro fiber towels and a pair of micro fiber wash mitts.

Like I said, it will get worse before it gets better . Welcome to the group though. Talking about it can help, somewhat, it depends on who you talk with though. I've been driving my wife nuts so I won't even talk about my MCSa with her anymore. She says hers is feeling jealous. So, instead of talking with her. I post a lot on NAM . It just feeds the disease but what can I say, I'm hooked.

Okay, after spending the better part of the day yesterday watching the Panama Canal webcams to catch the ship carrying my MINI pass through the Canal, I have to admit that I have MODC. BTW, did I mention that I'm on dial-up?!

Oh yeah...and there's the $135 worth of detailing products sitting in my office a good three weeks before I have any chance of taking delivery. :impatient

Yeah, I'm one of you too!

Welcome to the group LadyAquila! Your MC must be on the Manon then. It's made great time so far. My MCSa is about a week behind it on the Isolde.

You'll probably get yours fairly quickly after it makes it through the VDC. For us further North I think it might be quicker if they had a VDC in Tacoma, WA. The WW ships serving the West Coast go to Tacoma and arrive 3 days after arriving in Port Hueneme. Going by ship looks like it would be faster than truck. But then the ship is moving 24 hours a day when a truck isn't.

Hang in there, you'll get your new baby soon! Probably within a couple of weeks.

Yep, Pippin is on the Manon. He just missed the MB, so he sat on the docs for nearly two weeks!

I'm hoping for it sooner, of course, but I'm trying not to expect delivery until two weeks after the Manon arrives in port. That would put it right around the end of July. I can wait until then.

HI, My name is keri and I too have MOCD! I cannot wait for the day that it fully develops into full fledged OCD..
I am still waiting confirmation of order placement, see I ordered the car 6/30/07 and they said they had hoped it got into the July order....
Alas I cannot be a bonifide mini stalker as in Canada we do not have the same tracking options...So right now it is stalking my MA!!!!
All I have to say is thank you for creating this fantastic support group, to help all of us get through these trying times!
By the way, this is my first mini...

Hi Keri! Welcome to the group. You may or may not want to stay away from the Detailing 101 forum here. I think it just feeds the disorder You can find a lot of info there though on keeping your Mini in showroom shape after you get it.

Get ready to spend some more on detailing supplies . I've already spent about $300 and I can think of quite a bit more that I would like to purchase.

Hello, my name is Melissa, and I am MOCD.

If you spend time in the detailing forum, you already know this. If not, and you do not want to feel the urge to wash your car 2 times a week and keep it spotless at all times, then stay awayyyyyyyyyyy!

I just came home from a 2 week vacation. My husband was here alone with the dogs and a buddy. The house is trashed, the deck is trashed, the flower beds need desperately to be weeded.

But first? Must. Wash. MINI.

So that's done. I can clean tomorrow

The LightnSight works great! When I was showing my wife the product website she said she didn't want one, she thought it was going to be significantly larger than what it is. But when she got home last night and saw how small it actually was, we put it into her R53. Now, I need to order another one, I knew I should have ordered two to begin with, especially since they charge $3 for shipping when they send it via snail mail and a 42 cent stamp. Oh well.

I always want to wave at mini owners but I figure they will think I am crazy. Go to cafepress.com and have your own sticker created. It is a great idea!

Don't feel bad, I'm waving from a Ford F150 truck, which isn't too bad. But I'm also waving from a 2007 Ford Shelby Cobra GT500, and I'm getting all sorts of reactions. Some think I'm not being very funny, like I'm putting their little car down. (I'm not, I'm just trying to share in the fun of owning a Mini) Others think I want to race them. (Let's not go there) Some that met me or noticed me at their Guinness World Book Record attempt in Virginia Beach, VA know I'm a future Mini owner in waiting and wave back happily.

My husband thinks I'm loosing it.

He's a waver in training. I'll have to put that slap motion (yeah, real physical violent) in gear if he's driving my Mini and not waving to other Mini's. After all, he does wave to other Mustangs while driving around town and cruising the beach strip area. Although the Mustang folks have the same problem with the wave thing. I thought it was due to our car being snob nosed, but I think it's just a Mustang thing.

Oh, did you notice I'm smiley crazy also. The DH StangsUnleashed forum has so many more smileys then we do. Can we vote for an upgrade on the selections on smileys, please.

OMG! I am so happy I am not alone!!
Mini S Pilot go crazy with the smilies, as it brings smiles this way!!!! And for your hubbies sake, I hope he learns the wave from the mini or he could be in for some serious trouble LOL

I wave and am QUITE certain they think I am crazy I sure hope they don't think I am mocking the mini That would be WRONG!

Thanks for the support gang, and lets keep the courage unitl we get our babies in!

Welcome to the group Ravensmini! This is probably getting old to those following this topic but I'll give you my standard greeting. You may want to stay away from the Detailing 101 forum, it only feeds the disorder. That being said, you can find some great information there on keeping your Mini in showroom shape .

SimpsonGI, you are evil ... by warning against the Detailing forum you are planting seeds into the minds of people who are already suffering

Well, I may as well share my disorder. I just got an online delivery notice that the last of my detailing supplies are waiting by my front door for me when I get home. I'm going to try them out tomorrow on my wife's R53. I'll probably take a few pictures of it afterwards. I haven't yet because its dirty.... no she obviously doesn't have MOCD.

The claying process went much quicker than I thought it would. I'm waiting on my first coat of Z-5 at the moment. Hurry and wait, hurry up and wait. Oh well, such is life
