As promised, I took some pictures of my wifes R53 after detailing it's outside yesterday. I've uploaded the pictures to my picture gallery. You cannot even tell it has a clear bra installed, we even had the material put on the doors, but you can really only see the slight line if you are really close.

Beautiful car. Does having her car sitting there staring at you while you are waiting for delivery of your own help or just drive you crazy?

Thanks! I think it makes the wait worse. I don't drive hers that much since it is her daily commute car. So I walk out into the garage and sigh, thinking soon, soon, come on, any day now... .

But then I suppose when I do get the chance to drive it, it does quell the waiting pains just a bit.

Congrats again. So now the question will be whether your MOCD gets better or gets "worse" post delivery. Keep us informed of how your condition progresses.

Well, the MOCD kicked in yet again. I've ordered more detailing supplies. Detailers Paradise is offering 15% off to NAM members for a short period of time. So, I bought a PC polisher, pads, case, a couple of polishes to remove the rain spots on my wife's R53, and a variety of MF towels. I already had some MF towels but I discovered I didn't have enough, especially when since I'll soon have two Mini's to take care of instead of one. I really need to stay out of the Detailing 101 thread . I spend more money about every time I go through it because I discover I don't have the variety of supplies I need to satisfy my MOCD .

I am about to jump on that thread. It rained on my MINI for the first time yesterday and I just wanted to clean it all off. Thanks for info about the discount.

Perhaps ,. she may have had some part in the name choice , but it is also fitting. I went out to several baby name sites and looked up female names meaning small. Not that I wasn't leaning towards the name to start with .

How about this idea:

I think MINI should offer an induced coma service. They bring you out of it when your MINI is ready to pick up

Waddya other MOCD sufferers think?

I have been couped up in this mental institution ever since I placed my order and I keep telling the doctors the same thing, BUT they don't seem to think it will work. Neither does the mini-loft or mini-zack or whatever they have me on. As it turns out I can leave this place anytime I want, but then what the heck would I do without my car anyway?!?!?

I think my wife would have signed me up if she was given a chance.

I just received my supplies from Detailers Paradise:

Paradise Starter Bundle II
Prima Nero
Lexol Leather Bundle

** also got some Black Wow a week or so ago for the black plastic trim

I should be ready to go when I get my MINI (knocks on wood) next week... too exciting. Looks like MOCD is going to be a chronic condition.

Finally I'm where I belong! My name is Margot and I have had MODC for 6 years, but I tell ya, it just gets worse! It went from ogling others to stopping unsuspecting Mini drivers trying to leave parking lots to building hundreds of cars on the website. The cure? I THOUGHT it was ordering one 7/17, but then I realized that checking the owner's lounge 8 times a day might still be a bit obsessive. Scoop JUST went from being on order to scheduled for production, about an hour ago, and I woke up my husband to tell him. How pathetic is that!?
I'm so glad we can all commiserate here, because there are probably people in the larger world that just don't get it!

Hi Margot. Welcome to the MOCD Support group. You are among friends.

None of your symptoms are out of the realm of what your fellow MOCD suffers have experienced.

Hints:

1. The Owner's lounge is around 3-4 days behind reality. If you want better information, call 866.ASK.MINI. Talk to a human and give them your production number.
2. Related to #1... don't be bashful... call your MA if you want an update or have questions. That is what they are there for.

I guess we should start a MIN-Anon support group for the spouses of MOCD suffers.

Welcome to the adventure. Motor on

Welcome to the group Margot!! I've been told that I'm evil for doing this, but you may want to read through the Detailing 101 sub forums here under Minis in General on NAM.

There is a lot of good information on keeping your Mini looking great once you finally take possession. After all you will want to keep her/him clean. It's yet to be determined if the MOCD actually gets better over time. I can attest to the fact that while you are waiting, it only gets worse.

If we can be of any help, just let us know!

Gary

Oh, if you were checking the OL only 8 times a day, that isn't excessive at all! Every 30 minutes might be, but I wouldn't say 8 is.

We are here to help and support you.

If, while waiting for the arrival of your new MINI, you read through every single post on the Forums, does that mean you have MOCD?

Doh!

Yes, sounds like you have a case of MOCD.

Welcome to the Support Group. We're here to either help, or feed your addiction depending on how you look at it.

I agree with Emily. It sounds like a clear case of MOCD . Welcome to the group!! If you've already read every post then I don't need to direct you to the Detailing 101 section of NAM .

Have a great evening and let us know if we can help!

Hi MOCDers! Well, Meg at 866-ask-mini has become my new best friend! Thanks for the tip on calling that number Scoop was in the paint shop today, and is scheduled for completion tomorrow.

I think a spousal support group is a GREAT idea!!

Last night was the first night in over 2 weeks I slept and didn't dream of a MINI. Don't know if that's good or bad!

How's everybody else doing?
Margot
