Insurance recommendations

Just curious what companies people would recommend for auto insurance. I have a quote from Geiko and Nationwide which are upwards of 175 a month and a quote from progressive for 125 a month. I am young, the car is fast, and i do not have a garage. Any companies i should look at or plain stay away from?

The cheapest insurance I could find is with AAA. Conveniently, they also have the highest coverage amounts of any of the other companies I got quotes from. Even with the $50 AAA annual membership fee, it's still like $10 a month less for 3 times the coverage of the other guys.

AAA. They're doing a fantastic job for us. In fact Gromit is in the body shop as we speak getting a boo-boo fixed, and they waived the deductable. what makes an insurance company good, is not your monthly payment, but what happens when you need to file a claim!

Stay away from esurance: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/insurance/esurance.html

Geico has issues too: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/insurance/geico.htm

We have AAA. They took great care of us when my wife was in an accident a few years ago.

+1 on USAA. If you're eligible, there's nothing better.

Agreed, USAA all the way. That's the only reason I married my wife was for this insurance Then again, she married me for my health insurance, so it's even

If there is any way you can qualify - do it.

I paid $74/month full coverage, $500 deduct for a Boxster S - in California! And it's the best coverage there is, period.

I have allstate and they quoted me higher than I would have liked for an MCS. (have not bought one yet.) An MCS was $225 a month. I have to talk to my agent because that is outrageous for a 20 year old with a squeeky clean record. I will probably check with AAA because we do have AAA service, and according to people here they are good. I can vouch for USAA also, not because I have thier service, but when the girl (whom they insured) hit my Buick the earlier this summer, they took an estimate the next day and I had a check in less than a week...impressive I think.

I have USAA and from what I know you or your parents have to have served in the military. My grandfather served in the Air Force and my mom was able to get USAA and then I was eligible.

Thanks, I just put in a request for a quote through AAA. I think we are paying too much through Farm Bureau.

Not in my experience, but I would imagine it varies from company to company.

Nah, they just don't like you because you're a tool. Aaahhh, just kidding. Anyway, don't waste your time talking to Liberty Mutual. You wouldn't wanna know their prices on anything. I have Nationwide, am 21, have a good record and even with full coverage and no alarm, garage, and no driving classes only pay $120 a month.

They supposedly reduce your rates with a garage, which also varies on where you live. High crime/theft rates, better to have the garage. We have always had a gargage, and I have never parked in it. Hmmmm

progressive has treated me well for good prices. Also i have 3k worth of aftermarket parts covered on my car... and my local progressive agent is an autoX'er and has told me while having drinks that he can/will cover cars that have problems while autoXing.

State Farm has treated me very well. One tip, find your local agent and go and talk to them in person, skip the web quotes. My Insurance on an 04 MCS is less than $100/month and is pretty comprehensive on damage and liability ($250 deduct.)

I just recieved my new card from Nationwide for July through January 2008 and saw that I get a good number of discounts. I get good driver, passive restaint, advance quote, and about 3 or 4 others. I'd say give 'em a call and see what you can get.

I got a quote from them and they were considerably higher than all the others I've tried. By FAR the best quote I got was from Mercury, although I haven't called AAA yet. Does anybody know if Mercury is fairly reputable as far as customer service goes?
